Betong Grass Jelly Shop

A local grass jelly place made famous by locals and bloggers. The jelly is good with chewy texture and the nostalgic taste. We actually can smell the burning wood, which is probably used to making the jelly, during our visit. There are several bakery and desert items on the table for us to choose from. Some are good and a few difficult to get outside Baetong. The owner/staff are very accommodating.

Go early, it can be sold out by 2pm.
The grass jelly has a slight chewy texture with a herbal tinge, a mild form of kwai Leng kou.
The Kueh texture is good and goes well with the homemade cane sugar and fried garlic

This well patronised dessert shop is located at the junction enroute to the Skywalk Ayerweng; Piyamit Tunnel & Betong Hotspring . Unfortunately parking is severely limited & no way a tour bus can easily stop by here. Saloon cars can park at the curb at your own risks

As the namesake suggested their piece de resistance is the Grass Jelly with Shaved Ice desserts. There are other desserts & savoury bites too. Prices are very very reasonable.

When in season; opposite the shop is a stall selling all varieties of Durian

What I love about the Thais is that they do not charge a higher price just because one is a foreigner or tourist. Exceptions are tourist sites where there are discriminatory pricing

Delicious! The grass jelly is very chewable. Try the delicacy in the plate. We chose the salty version. Worth a try, parking could be difficult. Owns by Hakka people, so u can speak Hakka. 3 grass jelly + 2 delicacies only 65Baht.

Everything is yummy here after a long hot day visiting the tourist attractions around. The shop has been around for 4decades.

Parking is difficult. We simply park in front of those closed shop lot 😂 the shop is busy and packed when we visit. Owner served the food directly without our order HAHA! There is a staff who can speak Chinese, but simple body language is good enough to order the glass jelly 🤣

Quick day trip to Betong, Thailand: snacks at Betong Grass Jelly Shop. This place is very famous for their grass jelly, and it is really one of the best I've ever had! The jelly was very firm, and not too sweet. Super refreshing 😍😍😍. This place only accepts Thai currency.

Very soothing and thirst quenching to have a bowl of grass jelly shaved ice here. Its so so good! Very reasonable price too! Will definitely return when I visit here again!
