Wow! The Garden of Eden and Africa’s largest Caldera! Don’t miss it if you are in the area! Elephants, rhinos, warthogs, Cape buffalo, wildebeests, springboks, zebra, flamingos, pelicans, lots of other birds. Steep and winding road in and out. I’m glad I had an experienced and responsible driver and my safari vehicle all to myself! No hippos or giraffes. My driver always set up a beautiful hot lunch picnic spread, truly elegant and much appreciated out on safari!

Amazing density of animals: zebras, lions, wildebeests, baboons. Also the panorama from the view point was impressive. One of the best destinations for safari in Tanzania.

One of the most fascinating National Parks I have experienced. Just the thought that you are just ON a volcanic crater, impressive! We saw a mass of animals in such a small space, so close to the car. The landscape is amazing.

We were in the park in April before the main season. Since the park is limited by the crater, there can be a high crowd of other guests. We noticed it especially at the picnic areas, it was very crowded - and that before the season. I don't want to know what it's like during peak season.

Nevertheless, the park is worth it. One day was enough (for me) though.

Definitely the best park we did during our 3-days of safari!
You can see the big 5 during the day and the landscapes are just awesome!
I still don't find the words to describe this experience...

We had the best safari day in Ngorongoro. We could see +10 lions, elephants, buffalos, hipos, zebras, hienas… and even the rhino!
The landscape is amazing and with a lot of animals per sqm.
Outside the crater it’s easy to see jiraffes.
Highly recommended!

it's like a paradise for animals, in a semi enclosed area, the mountain is beautiful with clouds surrounded, we spotted a rhino here, the only one during our visit to Tanzania.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Named after the Ngorongoro Crater which is the other crown jewel of Tanzania. Voted as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. The Ngorongoro volcano was active from about 2.45 to 2 million years ago. It is now home to approximately 25,000 animals including Hippotamus, Black Rhinoceros. The area is also home to leopards, cheetahs and spotted hyenas, all of which are a rare sight. Rounding up my experience in the Safari, I have seen 4 of the big 5 and 4 out of the 5 ugliest. My highlights here were the close distance from our lunch spot to the Hippotamus and a super zoom just to spot the Black Rhinoceros. The crossing of the wildebeest across the different plains and a lovely couple walk between Simba (Lion) and Nala (Lioness). Definitely a fruitful and rewarding experience to wake up at 6am and head for our game drive.

A wonderful experience of the depths of nature. The best thing is that it is natural and there is no trace of human interference with it. Camping can be tried, and the hotel, which is equipped with clean energy, can also be used. We succeeded in the trip and were able to find most of the animals and take close-up photos of them.Worth the one time experience and it will remain an everlasting memory.

Absolutely fantastic. Don’t miss. Don’t worry about getting down too early — we left around 8 and worked out fine. Since most safari days start early, take advantage.

Amazing place, it has it all. Must visit from my perspective. If I had to choose only one National Park to visit during my lifetime, I would choose Ngorongoro crater and Ndutu area

Another place people should see. It's full of wildlife and very beautiful. Have a good guide with you and it's an adventure one will never forget. Also LISTEN to your guide when they tell you don't get too close to the animals. It their territory. It's dangerous. Play it safe and just enjoy the animals from a distance. Wear safari color clothes too. I've seen others ignore this instruction. You don't want attention so wear the proper color attire. Also pack a sweater or thermals. It gets chilly in the mornings and evenings.

Truly breathtaking conservation park this time of year... we saw such an incredible abundance of wildlife. Plenty of zebra, lions, wildebeest, hippos, ostriches, warthogs, cape buffalo, gazelle, impala, etc. all mingling in the vast green crater.
Loved it!

One of the most amazing places I’ve even seen. We saw three of the big five in the crater. The black rhino we saw through binoculars, about 4-5 prides of lions and many other animals. It’s a very concentrated area for animals so we never went more than a minute without seeing something. Make sure your guide has you down there by 6 am, we saw the most lions in the first two hours than we did the rest of both days. We had lions walk right next to our safari truck.

It's an amazing place! In the morning, you'll probably get a chilly and misty weather, so pack a polar or a sweater. The tropical forest is beautiful, though, especially with all the mist and fog. Once you go down the caldeira, it gets warmer and sunnier, and the landscape is just wonderful. You'll see lots of animals (including the black rhino, if you're lucky), and the picnic that everyone seems to do by the lake is also very pleasant (lots of little colourful birds to photograph here!). It was really nice!

Nature at its best. The view over the crater from above is truly spectacular. Full of animals, plenty of action. Prepare yourself for long drives over very bumpy roads. It is worth it though. Many animals including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, gazelles, etc can be found here. The scenery is tropical with lush at some points. There is also a large lake where you can see hippos and flamingos.

A vast crater floor with abundance of wildlife and endless plains with swamps, lake and plants. We saw many interesting scenes with wildlife as a part of a 4 day safari through 3 national parks and Ngorongo being one of them. Will never forget.

Because of its geography, you'll find it the easiest park to find the most diverse group of animals of most parks. You can basically see most of them in a single day. Didn't take but a few pictures since we had seen mostly everything in the Serengeti area. Can be chilly at times. Area is also very beautiful in many directions.

Superb experience. Animals all around. Perhaps highest density of animals on Earth in a compact area. Saw almost all variety of animals. One should have atleast a full day trip to Ngorongoro. Highly recommended for wildlife lovers.

The Ngorongoro conservation area was one of the biggest highlights of our African safari. Our guides told us it has the highest permanent concentration of animals in the world, and you can definitely tell. From lions, to elephants, to zebras and hippos, you can see it all here. I will definitely be back to the crater (caldera) and will not stop telling my friends and family about the experiences I had here for years to come.
