Rocky Creek Waterfall - Pinhoti Trail/Heflin Spur

Enjoyed the hike to the waterfall on our Christmas vacation. The hike wasn’t that bad, however it is over a mile from the trailhead so be ready to walk. This was my first hike in over 4 years due to medical conditions and my family and me really loved the waterfall and spending time together in God’s creation.

Shady walk; not too challenging. Toward the waterfall, it gets more precarious (some narrow steep places). Keeps kids and dogs close. Google GPS will lead you to a private residence. But if you keep going, pass the Talladega sign and take the next right, you'll be in the right place.

Large gravel parking area. Just follow the Google directions ray to find the trail. Parking lot is straight ahead across the tracks. The trail runs parallel to the railroad tracks. It goes until a cliff then turns left. Took us about 35 minutes.

20 foot waterfall just off the Heflin Spur of the Pinhoti Trail. Beautiful. Former power plant for the city of Heflin. See 1926 article referring to the dam and plant in the Cleburne News.

Easy walk to the little waterfall. A great spot to cool off after we hiked about 6 miles in and out.

Nice & easy hike to the falls.

Nice hike. Just when you think you might have missed it, there it is. It's a nice little man made falls. You can go to the side trail and see it face front, or sneak your way straight into the falls between the rocks. Water was too cold to swim for me. But take your chances... Rough rocks.

Rocky Creek and the waterfall are a beautiful part of the forest anytime of the year and easy access from the Heflin Spur Trailhead parking lot.

Nice shady hike. Nothing very challenging. Pretty falls that is relaxing to see. Nothing huge, just a nice babbling brook with a waterfall from a small spillway.

Good hike.. wide trail
