Today my family and I decided to stop here for lunch. It did not disappoint! I recommend the Liquid Marijuana drink. Omg it was delicious… I ordered the Club Sandwich and my husband ordered the open face roast beef. The food was soooo wonderful! Stacy and the staff were wonderful & since it wasn’t that busy at the time we went, Stacy took me on a tour & told me about the history. Amazing Place! Thank you guys for a wonderful visit & amazing food. ❤

Excellent meal and atmosphere. It’s not just some beer joint. There are two sections of the restaurant, divided by a wall with a large pass through doorway. One side is mostly oriented towards a restaurant that also serves drinks, the other side looks more like a traditional bar that just so happens to also serve meals. The menu is the same in both sections and you can get a drink in both sections, you can pick the vibe you like best. My picture is of the “bar” side. Even if you only drink water you will enjoy the meal and the vibe of the old building.

The grilled shrimp and rice pilaf were really plain. The onion petals were awesome, and the dipping sauce was bomb. I will definitely go back again. The chips for the nachos are house made. Make sure you request them. Make sure the cheese is heated. Last time, it was COLD, so instead, I was charged for the chips and salsa at $9. Kind of a bummer. It's usually really good.

My husband and I were so glad we chose The Peerless for lunch today. We had the steak quesadilla and the Philly cheesesteak - both delicious!! The service was great! The entire atmosphere is cozy and relaxing! We will be back - great little spot for a day or night date!

We had the open-faced roast beef sandwich, the Italian salad, strawberry cake and sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious. Fresh ingredients, many choices of dressings and perfect compliments to the meals like French fried onion petals for the roast beef and maple syrup for the fries. The attention to the details made this restaurant stand out far above other local restaurants.

This place is a gem! The food is excellent and the staff is friendly. It is in downtown Anniston so if you are driving by I20, it is worth a stop for good food and a rich historical building. You guys know how critical of restaurants I am. This is a place I will stop by every time!

First time visit. Blown away to say the least. Without a doubt THE best steak in this area. Ordered rare and it was perfectly rare. Was soft as butter! The owner takes pride in this place and it shows. Savannah was our server and she was stellar. Top notch restaurant experience.

Always loved going here when I'm in the area. Great food and drinks. Haven't had anything on the menu that wasn't excellent. Always have good beer on tap or a full bar if I wanted something else. Wonderful atmosphere and great staff!

Great staff and great food! Stacy And Shirley run and own the place. Great place to hangout and have a few with friends and listen to live music. If that's too much they have the restaurant side just to enjoy a nice meal. They also have rooms upstairs and just private parties and they also do weddings!

I've never been disappointed at Peerless. The food is always delicious. Today we were seated in the saloon part. The restaurant is divided onto two different rooms. Either side is fine to eat in.
The service was great. Food was a tad slow but it was right in theoddle of lunch hour and there was a good crowd there.
There's plenty of parking. Several menu choices.
I had the BBQ nachos and it was a full meal. Could not have eaten another thing. Delicious!

An absolute highlight! Our first time in Alabama and wanted to experience some local and authentic cuisine. Our hotel recommended a couple of places including the Peerless. The menu had a good selection of intriguing entrées but we weren't familiar with some of the food descriptions. We tested our server, Brianna's patience (God bless her) with our questions, asked her what she suggested and ended up with a good sampling of the "southern kitchen". We tried blackened chicken, sweet potato fries, hush puppies, cheese curds, loaded potato soup (and a few other things). Every single thing we tried was prepared to perfection. Brianna explained everything before we tried it and her recommendations were right on the mark. I should note that this isn't just a restaurant. The building in and of itself is worth the visit for its historical significance and intriguing past. The excitingly seductive story the third floor tells, transports one back in time to the early 1900's. The food is fantastic, the service will not disappoint and the building and its wonderfully, titillating past is an absolute must for anyone and everyone. Thank you Brianna for your patience and your bubbly personality. We enjoyed our evening! Thank you Stacey for giving us a personal tour of the "Peerless Saloon" and sharing its history with us.

The Peerless Saloon & Grille was all that & then some! Mom & stopped by on our way back home from a thrifting trip in North Alabama. What we thought was going to be a quick in and out with an appetizer to hold us over until we got home turned out to be an "OH MY GOSH, LET'S ORDER MORE & STAY ANOTHER NIGHT " I really don't know where to begin. I'll start with we pulled up, curbside at the front door around 5 pm. Mind you, this is in the downtown area, on New Years Eve. We past several places of liking along our path to the restaurant which lead us to think, that we may want to return to Anniston. We walked in, were greeted nicely by not one but two hostess, got to our table where we were greeted by Olivia, our waitress & boy was she ever so helpful! We ordered the cheese bites from the starter menu.... these cheese bites were out of the ordinary, these were no regular cheese sticks at the norm franchise chains that we know, these were on a whole different level within themselves & the sauce that comes with them, oh my, mom & both said it was "drinkable ". Fast forward to that leading into us ordering more food, almost all of the items on the menu read to be enticing, we were opting on the fried green tomato & shrimp stackers along with a few other choices so then we asked Olivia for her advice, she was beyond helpful. We ended up ordering the FGT & Shrimp stacker along with the chicken taco....YALL, this food was off the chain good! It is rare that you go to a restaurant and have everything that you order to be this delicious, but in this case, it WAS! Mom & I both looked at one another several times in disbelief amongst ourselves at our experience here & I said to my mom, "there is a first class chef in this building somewhere! " We were actually, almost speechless. Like I said it's rare to get this type of experience in a restaurant, especially in a low key area like Anniston, but I am telling you, that this experience was enough to warrant me looking forward to our next outing and making sure that Peerless is in the route! Every employee was extremely nice, Olivia was beyond knowledgeable on their menu & history, restrooms were clean, food was 5 star plus great, & the atmosphere was intriguing and left us wanting to delve more into the quaint towns history. We can't say enough great things about our experience here last night but you can bet WE WILL BE GOING BACK, & next time taking my husband so that he can try out the steak (they won several awards for but mom & I were too full to take it on), will review that probably after Valentine's day 2021 😉

Lovely place but you must enjoy a bit of nostalgia. Food was great, service was awesome and the seating was plentiful. Check out the bar side..and you will be impressed with the woodwork behind the brass railed bar. And the photos of lovely dancers and entertainers from the fifties and beyond are fascinating.
