Mata’s II Greek Pizza & Grinders

This is an iconic restaurant in our area. If you have never tried it then you are missing out! It's worth the drive from an hour away. They are doing drive through only at this time. Their Greek salad is the best I've ever had from a restaurant of this size.

Great pizza ever. Just make sure you get your cheese bread. They love to leave it out of your order. Just picked up another great pizza and salad. They forgot the cheese bread the second time.

The food was amazing. Had a great time with some friends. The girls and the Philly cheesesteak sub was awesome. I really enjoyed the Italian sub. This place Hass to be one of the greatest pizzerias I ever ate it.

I’ve been eating at this place since I was a kid. I would cry if they ever go out of business. Best pizza place by far.

I left Alabama in 1997. Everytime I visit I go here. I've been to over 25 countries. Mata's is still one of my favorite pizzas in the world. If you're ever in Anniston Alabama and looking for something different, try here. Their baklava is pretty good as well. It's take out only now so be prepared to find a place to eat it. In our 8 day stay we ate here 3 times

They have amazing salads and the best ranch dressing! I hope they get online ordering or an app (NOT Door Dash) because the drive thru line takes too long. It's especially annoying having to wait on what seems like people ordering at the window when you called in an order and it's already ready. Also, they need to update the pricing on their online menu because it is incorrect. It should also be posted on Google Maps. As you can see, quite a lot of people use Maps to review you, so it would be helpful for you to post an updated menu here, too. Other than that, they have great food and nice sized portions!

Matas has ALWAYS been a family favorite our ours! We have been going to Matas for over 30 years, and it NEVER disappoints!

Some of the best pizza I have ever had in my life! I've eaten here quite a few times and have had the meaty supreme meat lovers pizza and the Matas favorite pizza and they were both equally delicious and had tons and tons of toppings all over them. 😋 Be sure that you absolutely do not miss the scrumptious desserts like the baklava & my personal favorite the melomakarona, or "the cookie" 🤤 It's so freaking good and tastes like it was marinated in honey 🍯 They don't do dine in anymore and you have to call ahead 20-40mins but as long as the line is at the drive thru and how delicious it is it's well worth it!!!

We stayed at the BW Finial hotel next door and ordered pizza from Mata’s. We were a little disappointed that the dining room was closed, but took it to our room. The large pizza is huge! And loaded with ingredients! We were very pleasantly surprised-we are used to the local Dominoes Pizza and was a wonderful change. We took the leftovers home and ate them the following night. Mr. Mata - please open a restaurant in my town!

Best house dressing ever. Pizza is awesome. Grinders are really good. This place has been around a long time for a reason.

I'ma go ahead and five star this place. Been eating here for years and it has been extremely consistent. The new location is a great improvement. The food is excellent. I have to order a pizza, grinder and salad with house dressing every time. The prices are extremely reasonable as well, unlike a few other pizza joints I have frequented. This is my favorite. Know this though. This place is extremely busy at peak times, be patient, it is worth the wait. You will notice they keep the food and take out line moving. Once more, it is worth the wait. Call ahead if you are in a hurry. Give 'em a try.

Best pizza place EVER. I drive at least 5 times a year back to my home town just for this place. I’m addicted!! No place on this earth like it. I always get the pepperoni pizza, roast beef grinder, and salad. Promise your taste buds will thank you 😊

They have quite possibly the best pizza you will ever taste. They're grinders and salads are amazing as well. This place is a local legend and a must eat if you're in the area.

Excellent food and service. Whenever you call, they address you by name, remember previous orders, and use your name in the drive thru when you pull up. Never had a bad experience with the employees or food here. Worth the extra you may spend on the food and definitely worth picking it up.

A very affordable toasted sandwich in Anniston. For just over $7 I got a sandwich that could have easily fed two people. The staff was working very hard, even if communication was a little confusing at times.

Matas is a local favorite here in Anniston. By far one of the best genuine and authentic Greek places to eat in the area. Definitely a place worth dropping by to get a slice of there wonderful pizzas hand made and also there delicious Greek salad.

There are many great types of pizza in the world and Matas is one of them. You can't find this pizza anywhere else and it is amazing! Their food is consistently high quality. The salads and grinders are also really good.
