It's all about the experience. April was our tour guide, and she was amazing. She had lots of energy and was full of stories. She interacted with us and took an interest in getting to know you. She had lots of fun stories about the movie, the real history, and little fun facts about things that occurred but were not planned.

Part of the sound of music tour. I believe you can go on your own, but it’s very out of the way. However, it is also in the same spot as the Von Trapp family’s home- which was awesome to see! It’s also where the scene is where they all fall off the boat in the lake in their “back yard” which is actually the front of a hotel! Awesome movie magic learned here. It’s surreal to see all of it, and I would probably go again just to experience it one more time!

If you’re a sound of music fan, then this is a must see. It’s not in its original location, but it’s been nicely restored and placed somewhere accessible for all to see.
You won’t be able to go inside though as it’s locked.

This is in a park with several other Salzburg amenities and views. Great free play area for kids 3-12 or so with mountain backdrop.

The park was lovely and quiet. February is a great time to visit, because although it was snowing, there wasn't any wind, so it didn't feel very cold at all. I was able to take pics of the Sound of Music gazebo and other parts of the park with no large crowds to deal with.

"You are sixteen, going on seventeen..."
This is the gazebo from Sound of Music motion picture, where one of the most remarkable moments where shoot.

Free admission. It was a CHILDHOOD DREAM COME TRUE 🥹 you can’t open the door and go in the pavilion though. It’s locked. But you can frolic around the outside while the sunsets 🌅 and golden rays of sunlight reflect off the pavilion

A must visit place for Sound of Music fans. This was the shooting place for "Sixteen Going On Seventeen". Lots of brides took picture. Other than that, the park itself is beautiful and calm

A classic Sound of Music feature. The doors are locked so you can't go inside, but beautiful nonetheless

If you are a Sound of Music Buff, you must see it, unfortunately it was not open. The palace park is beautiful as well.

Exactly like the pavilion in the musical. It was a gift to Salzburg and was added to here after the production. Worth a visit if you have seen the movie. You do not require tickets to see this pavilion, however, the door is locked and you may not enter the pavilion.

We nearly gave this a miss but as it was close to where we parked we decided to have a look. It’s actually quite beautiful and definitely worth seeing in person.

Smaller than in the movie, The Sound of Music' but an iconic place to visit.
