Absolutely gorgeous gardens. The entry to the palace and gardens are free. I went on Sunday and couldn't access the palace. However I had been to concert a day earlier and got to see the staircase and marble room which were nice.
The highlight was the garden. It was beautifully done. The sound of music was shot here so special significance. Try to get there as soon as it opens to avoid crowds

The grounds around the outside of the palace were beautiful. Flowers in bloom, elaborate fountains flowing, and the weather was amazing. Sad we got there too late to see the inside.

This place is definitely a pearl of Salzburg! The garden is spectacular with its perfect symmetry. I also liked the dwarfs garden - they are so cute and each one has its own history.
The palace is also accessible and it’s free, but all the rooms are under administrative use so I only saw the corridors and the stairs but it definitely worth visiting.
The access to the garden and to the palace is free but if you want to use the bathroom it costs 0,50€.

When visiting Salzburg, my wife and I first walked to the beautiful gardens, from where there is a beautiful view of the castle. The gardens are magnificent in June, when we visited them, the vegetation and flowers were beautiful.
The Mirabell manor with all its outbuildings and garden monuments is on the UNESCO list as the Historic Center of the City of Salzburg.

This place is definitely a pearl of Salzburg! Alot of individuals go straight to the gardens but the palace is quite gorgeous in its own right. The access to the garden and to the palace is free. No tickets needed to enter.

A must see in Salzburg. An awesome park to relax, spend a lazy afternoon and try to have a sandwich/picnic while you do people watching. Expect a lot of tourist. Spend time walking around the park. It huge & has a gnome garden. If you have time watch a Mozart concert at the marble hall. It is really work it

Went during December 2022. Entry into the gardens was free, however you couldn’t get into the palace. Because it was middle of winter, none of the flowers were out, however it was still a beautiful place to meander.

Just wow! This place is truly gorgeous!! I strongly believe indeed it is the most beautiful monument you can find in Salzburg! I don't know if you can access the palace itself, but even just the garden is truly spectacul! What I couldn't really understand, since you have to pay to access the other monuments in the city, this one is completely FREE...

Great and beautiful gardens, we haven't visited the palace inside, but only a walk in the gardens is worth it

A spectacular, impressive monument. Best for photography inside a well-preserved, scenic garden with brilliant statues. I didn’t find any entrance to the palace hall and spend the time in the garden. There was a beautiful wedding photoshoot at the front yard as I entered the place.

Really a beautiful place during summer. Worth every step you take in that area. Roses and other flowers blooms beautifully. It is very green and clean. Feels like can spent hours there just admiring the flowers.

I am a huge Sound of Music fan. We visited the Mirabell Palace as part of our movie location tour. I must say that I was wowed. I tried to recreate some of the scenes from the movie. I had a great time reliving the memories. The garden is so perfect, neatly kept, the flowers were beautiful. I enjoyed everything here, I felt like a kid in a candy shop. There were also a lot of people and tour groups when we visited.

Free to roam around and enjoy. If you like the sound of music you’ll particularly enjoy seeing this. The palace and gardens are beautiful but be sure to have a walking tour to explain the history. Book a (pricey but worth it) Schlosskonsert to see the interior marble hall and enjoy an orchestra as well for the full experience.

During my visit to Salzburg in 2018, I had the pleasure of exploring the exquisite Mirabell Palace and its enchanting gardens. This magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site left me utterly captivated, earning a well-deserved five-star rating.

The moment I stepped into the palace, I was greeted by an ambiance of grandeur and elegance. The intricate architectural details, stunning frescoes, and ornate marble halls whispered tales of a bygone era. The palace's historical significance, as a backdrop for cultural events and diplomatic affairs, added a sense of depth and intrigue to my experience.

However, it was the Mirabell Gardens that truly stole my heart. An oasis of serenity amidst the bustling city, the meticulously manicured gardens offered a symphony of colors and fragrances. I found myself strolling along the perfectly aligned pathways, marveling at the vibrant flowerbeds, enchanting sculptures, and the symmetrical beauty of the Pegasus Fountain. Each corner revealed a new hidden gem, be it the Rose Garden or the fragrant Orangery.

The garden's historical significance, as the setting for the iconic "Do-Re-Mi" scene from the movie "The Sound of Music," added an extra layer of joy and nostalgia to my visit. It was a delight to wander through the same paths where Maria and the Von Trapp children once danced and sang.

Moreover, the staff at Mirabell Palace was courteous, knowledgeable, and eager to share information about the history and significance of the site. Their passion for preserving and showcasing the palace's heritage was evident and added to the overall quality of my visit.

In conclusion, my visit to Mirabell Palace and its stunning gardens was a true highlight of my trip to Salzburg. I wholeheartedly recommend this enchanting destination to travelers seeking a magical experience that seamlessly blends history, natural beauty, and a touch of cinematic charm. It is truly deserving of a five-star rating and remains a cherished memory of my time in Salzburg.
