One of the oldest and best places to have beer in Salzburg. The place is quite crowded so it's recommended to reserve a table in advance.
Their Salzburg knockerl is one of the best in Salzburg and portion size is big enough for 2-3 people. The beer was one of the best i ever had and would love to visit this place again.

A very famous restaurant, make sure you make a reservation in advance or it will be hard to get in. I was curious to try the macaroni and cheese with fried onions, which was very good and highly recommended, and came with a refreshing salad. I ordered a small portion of beef stew, which was very flavorful and soft, and came with a loaf of bread for dipping into the soup. The service was excellent, we were seated even though we were almost an hour late!

We arrived in the evening with a friend without a reservation and luckily they found us a table :) it was full, especially locals, which was a good sign. we had the food on the table within 5 minutes (I love when I don't have to wait), the price/taste ratio is excellent… the only minus is the wall (wood) next to the table. That was a bit disgusting, dirty, probably from wine.

So so good! You'll need to make reservations before arriving because I tried going in as a walk in on a Thursday and was turned away. However, you can try asking to sit at the shared table number 11 as a last resort which is how I got in. The food is worth the effort. Get anything fried and you'll have a wonderful meal. The schnitzel was excellent for me. The burger was enormous and would fill anyone. The beer list is a good compliment. Staff does speak English. Seating is indoors across two floors.

The food is really good, but have to wait more than 30 minutes for our food. The place is nice, but I suggest you make a reservation before you go.

Great experience for real Austrian dishes. We were lucky they had an empty table for us. Definitely should reserve in advance. Our lady waitress was just delightful!

Best place in Salzburg for authentic Austrian dishes. It’s a short walk from the main square. Be sure to make a reservation.

Very good fried chicken. One order was enough for 2 people. Goulash was good but the dumpling that came with it was very dense, barely ate a third of it

Probably the best Austrian dining experience you could have. The space is very comfortable and staff is wondeful. The schnitzel was flavorful, the mushrooms were perfect and the fried chicken was delicious. The food is served in large portions, so be careful to not over order.

Amazing, charming, and worth every penny. Make sure to book your table before visiting. This 300+ year old restaurant dishes out some delicious food of humongous proportions. The potato salad served with deep fried chicken and the roast pork were absolutely smacking! Special appreciation to the staff for their warm welcome and customer-friendly approach. If you're ever visiting Salzburg, do give this restaurant a try. Rest assured it will be a memorable one.

Really nice cosy Restaurant for good austrian Food. Had the Gulasch and Schnitzel. Very tasty. Then to round it off had their apfelstrudel. Perfect end to a great dinner. Definitely recommend to make a reservation. Especially on weekends.
