Beautiful place inside the abbey, the bread is fresh and warm. I got a raisins brioche for 1.7 euros. Larger ones are more expensive but the prices are overall good and the brioche was really good. They speak English as well.

No finesse, nothing fancy, just pure, reliable flavor. The brioche is good, but the sourdough bread is my favorite. The owners are friendly and the prices are reasonable. It's a traditional bakery for a reason.

Just happened to visit this Oldest bakery in Salzburg. Still apply the old approach to make bread. As the bread lover, like the craftsmanship from 12 century. Very Charming.

Best Brioche ever! We got three pieces of bread - the infamous Brioche, the Kalach and the Sourdough. I love how the bread is not too sweet. It's a light, wonderful, buttery, creamy taste. The Brioche and the Kalach are seriously soft and moist. There is no table to sit or so, it's a grab and go, which is a pretty good option for us, as we booked ourselves a full long day of sightseeing. If there is any suggestion, it would be that the card paying option would be of much help.

Out of all the bakeries I visited world wide, this one is in the top of my list. It's simple, delicious, and freshly baked.
It's nearby St Peter's cemetery. They bake simple bread rolls or bread rolls with raisins, both are amazing. We went in the morning so that we get freshly baked bread, it never disappoints! This is a very small bakery and it serves one person at a time- you don't want to miss it!

We found this bakery by accident. We could not resist but visit this place because of the aroma of baking fresh bread. It did not disappoint us. The place is small and they offer limited number of bread items. The lady behind the counter told us to wait for few mins for fresh bread. We got two pieces of milk bread. It was steaming hot, tastiest bread I have ever eaten. The lady was very polite and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place. The price is very reasonable too.

Heard it’s the oldest bakery in Salzburg. Very affordable bread. Tried the brioche, rye bread with spices and the sour dough as per their recommendation

Had warm fresh raisin bread here, excellent, wish it's a stone's throw away from me, it's unfortunately 13500kms away from me. I mean it's literally midnight in Western Australia now and I'm thinking of this bread. Fresh, cheap, basic, decent, unique (located within a cemetery). You go down a flight of stairs to get in.

Reasonably hidden in an alleyway and situated beside a waterwheel. They are the oldest bakery in Salzburg and sell freshly baked brioche buns with sultanas at €1.10 each and other types of bread e.g sour dough. Our buns were so fresh out of the oven that they were too hot to hold. They were soft and tasty - a great snack whilst walking around the city.

Oldest bakery in Salzburg, the wheat for the bread is ground using the waterwheel that you can see outside. They have traditional austrian black sourdough bread, as well as brioches that are very delicious. Worth a visit! Also the whole area around it is super nice.

The bread made here is amazing! You can smell the bakery as soon as you round the corner. They only accept cash, but you can't beat the prices and quality.

The oldest bakery in the city, dating back to the 12th century. Their brioche was outstanding and their warm rye had an amazing caraway punch! They still use wood fired ovens. This is a can’t miss stop while exploring Salzburg.

The bakery is the oldest in town, it still uses the historic oven and the pastry we got there was absolutely delicious! I was very impressed

Lovely fresh baked bread (rye or sweet) from the oldest bakery in Salzburg. Maybe needed some butter to go with the roll, but lovely none the less.

Well hidden old style bakery with stone, log-fired ovens. The bread is a meal in and of itself. Hearty, filling, sourdough flavor. If you like a heavy bread, this is it. I imagined this is the sort of bread there was in medieval days.

Best bread in town, traditionally produced.
Still like in medieval times, only the ingredients improved
