The food here tastes authentic, and the service is great. When they’re busy, (which is quite often) the staff are still very friendly. We’ve come here 3 times (almost in a row) in the past week, and the food has always been delicious. You also have a good view of the mountains, though the lake is partially obscured by shrubs. Outside seating is best, but inside also has a cosy feel. Either way the atmosphere is wonderful. Definitely make a reservation, too. By far one of the best restaurants in St Gilgen.

Nice dining. We came during lunch on Dec 31st and find a table without reservation. But in about 40 min place got really packed. So reservation is recommended.

Food was great. We had tortellini with bacon, penne with bacon, lasagna and penne backed with cheese.
Lasagna and backed penne in cheese were hot for very long time, as they come in the hot plates straight from oven, so they sizzle for a while. Prepare your expectations.

Absolutely loved this place!

The staff accommodated us without a reservation, though I wish I had made one. A very busy place because of its high quality food and great view of the lake.

I highly recommend their pizza and my wife loved the pesto basil pasta.

We had high expectations coming in, but Portofino delivered on all fronts. If ever we are back in St Gilgen, we will definitely be eating here again.

Honestly it has been a long time since I've had such a delicious pasta!!!!! I chose the creamy meat pasta bake and my boyfriend had a Boulognese pizza that was both UNREAL! Thank you so much to all the staff for this delicious meal 👌🏼🍴

The food is delicious, pizzas fresh and tasty. They get very busy during rush hours, so definitely call them in advance. The owner, Nilu, is very friendly and is managing the staff well.

I absolutely loved the place. Fair selection of food, very cozy atmosphere, playlist is all my favourite music. I had really good time, marked my calendar for future visits. So far this is the best place I have eaten at in St Gilgen.

Found this gem on our trip - and without a doubt it’s one of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Every single dish - soups, salad, pizza and lasagna were just too good. They even customized the lasagna for us. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

finally found a delicious restaurant, which has options for vegetarians and vegans.

I arrived during a very busy lunch time, and was made to feel very welcome. There didn't seem to be a table available, but staff made one up for us. The food was absolutely incredible.

There are no word to describe how good the food is here. Out of this world. The best we’ve had in Austria, so we came to eat here twice.

Pleasant pizzeria, especially in the cold time of Advent. Pizza, which is very close to the Italian style was very tasty. The interior is very cozy. The service is pleasant. Right next to it is a youth hostel.

Very good quality food, very good atmosphere and the service is outstanding. The place is pretty big and can seat a lot of people, but somehow the staff has perfect timing with everything. Food is very Italian like - simple but well sourced ingredients. Prices are much lower than everything in the region.

Very nice! Cosy italian restaurant, beautifully decorated! I had the frutti de mare spaghetti and it was very good! reasonable prices..12.9 euro for this dish.

Wow .. Great Tasty Pizza and Pasta. I highly recommend this restaurant. We (family) stopped by to see the lake and thought of a quick bite. I never regret having it here. It's even better than bigger cities specialized Italian restuarants. My sincere thanks to the Chef and the Staff for the outstanding experience. Note: It opened just 3 weeks ago.
