Gasthof zur Post

We only visited the restaurant for dinner, got the outdoor seating with the view of St. Gilgen’s Mozart statue, and it was a nice experience. Ordered the smoked salmon as starter, tasty and fresh yet it was rather little in portion. Anyway the main dishes were great. Both the veal goulash and deer stew with potato dumpling were nicely done, flavourful meats which were tender in texture (you can’t always find tender deer meat honestly) and appetising gravy matching in taste. And you definitely need to try the kaiserschmarrn, a hot and fluffy shredded pancake complimented with caramelized apples - this was the best dessert we had in Austria.

Lovely very old Gasthof with a new upper part beautifully integrating the old and the new. Service and food faultless and breakfast especially good.
Not directly on the lake but less than 5 minutes walk through this charming village. The boat rip on the lake for lunch in St Wolfgang was great.
On a test of "would I stay there again" a simple answer is "very definitely"

This was our third time staying at Gasthof zur Post. I can’t say enough about how special this place is; as well as St. Gilgen. Great people, food, scenery, and way of life.

We absolutely loved staying at the Hotel Gasthof zur Post. Not only was our room clean and cozy, but it also had a great view. The staff was very welcoming and friendly during our entire stay. It was also a pleasure dining at the hotel restaurant and enjoying some delicious Austrian cuisine. I highly recommend staying at the Hotel Gasthof zur Post when in Sankt Gilgen.

We had such a wonderful dinner at Gasthof zur Post. Everything was excellent. The "Leberknödelsoup" was one of the best I have ever had. And I love to order this hearty soup a lot. As a main we shared the todays special- "Hirschrücken". It was so soft and heavenly tasty. All ingredients were very fresh, high quality and the service also on point..

This place exceeds my expectations. Will definitely come back for my future holidays. The hospitality, service, food, room, name it everything is super! Love this place so much!

we stayed for 2 nights with my dad , that is traveling in a wheelchair. the staff made all efforts to make our stay comfortable. family room is very big, very very clean. traditonal atmosfere.

This is a great hotel! The double room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff, especially the reception staff, are very warm, welcoming, accommodating and polite. The food at the restaurant is great although a little pricey.

We stopped by for dinner because the place looked really nice, authentic and we got everything we were hoping for. Great local dishes, great service. Loved it.

The breakfast is just unparalleled. The hotel is renovated with wonderful lake views and a very good sauna. The hosts are very nice.

We've stayed there for 2 nights, our room was big and comfortable, the location is beautiful and the food and service were also very nice. We would come back again.

Lovely hotel, looks old from the outside but the inside has been made new and is well furnished. Great food and friendly staff, wouldn't hesitate to come back.
