Seebensee

Seebensee, located in Austria, is a breathtaking alpine lake nestled within the scenic Tyrolean mountains. Surrounded by towering peaks and verdant meadows, Seebensee offers a picturesque and tranquil escape for nature enthusiasts and hikers.

What a beautiful place this is! Went arround the Sonnenspitze over the Biberwierer Scharte and reached the Seebensee on the hard way. But it‘s worth while.

Made a winter mountain tour in February 2022 with Snowshoes from Ehrwald up to "Drachenstein" and it was amazing!

But steep hills and avalanche equipment in winter absolutely needed ☝🏼

Coburger Hütte was closed.

Get the cable car from Ehrwald and then then hike is around 2 hours each way. Don't expect to get the place to yourself though as it's quite busy in the summer. You can hire a bike near the top of the cable car which makes it a little easier.

Beautiful lake especially on a sunny day. It's a 2 hour hike from Ehrwald cable car. You can hire an e-bike. You can climb up the steps to go to Drachensee which is another 1 hour hike at least.

Lovely place. Very easy to get there, by foot or bike. Just bring enough water. While there are many small streams and waterfalls, it's difficult to say if that water is safe to drink, as there's also cattle grazing everywhere. The only place you can buy water from has prices that might be considered high, a small bottle of water was like 4€.

Beautiful views, it is definitely worth it!

Great walk to the lake. Very beautiful lake. We walked it with 8,6,4 year old. It wasn't easy for them but they enjoyed. Especially the snow near the lake.

First going up with the cable-way. Then a 2 hours easy walk. Our 4 year old daugther walked everything by herself. There are some good gasthauses on the way.

Great for a 2-minute, ice cold, refreshing swim after making the nearby Tajakante via ferrata!
