Great beer garden, filled mostly with locals. Staff were super friendly. Food was good. Would definitely go again.

After a long day working at my Thai spa in Freilassing, I dreamed of relaxing in a traditional beergarden in Salzburg—and Krimpelstätter made that dream come true. From the convenience of free parking to securing a cozy table, everything was seamless. The Augustiner beer was perfectly refreshing, and the Backhendl was absolutely delicious. Despite how busy it was, the service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The owner genuinely cares about the guests, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Looking for a traditional and good atmosphere place to take a beer and grab something to eat, we came here.
Amazing!! Good beer, good food, good prices.
You go to the cashier and order the beer. Then you grab the beer mugs, cool it down in the water tap and handed over to the guys that serve you directly from the barrel.

I give it five stars for everything because the service, beer, and atmosphere lifts the food from 4 to 5. The risotto I had was both over cooked and under cooked at the same time. But still tasted good and the lachsforelle was cooked and seasoned perfect.

A vibrant, cultural hall to introduce oneself to Salzburg & her charms! Enjoyed filling our tankards full of Märzenbier at the foyer pump & feasted on -quite possibly- the best Kartoffelsalat!

Very nice and cosy traditional Austrian place with very good traditional food! Very friendly and helpful staff and service. We tried the Spinatknödel and their beef gulash with knodel. Both were very nice and the portions were generous! Very good prices also!

Simply amazing. Starting from the atmosphere, the kindness of the staff and the tasty food, the restaurant is simply amazing. They don't offer a hige variety of foods, but what they offer is just delicious. Tasty craft beer, beautiful garden, tasty schnitzel and knodels... Definitely a must!

It is this "big house" kinda place. Very warming, very good service, delicious and well served food. Almost anything that you could order is gonna be delicious, so as the beer. Just be careful, there is a dish that includes liver and not everybody would be a fan.

People can only eat outside. Has their own signature beer with delicious Austrian pasta and stew. Staffs are really kind and can explain the menu in English which is written in German(?). Highly reccomend for travelers.

Great place to come with family! The atmosphere is really friendly and fun. This place offers true Austrian food and beer. The price are reasonably. It does get busy here on fridays, so come early to get a table. And there's a parking lot outside that leads right to this place, which was very convenient because it was raining when we came here.

Great place in the city of Salzburg to get authentic Austrian food. The Käsespätzle are amazing.

We visited here for an early lunch on a Saturday in June.
We ordered beer, the Goulash and a Wiener Schnitzel. Both food and the beer were really delicious. The food was hot and fresh and promptly served. The wait staff were friendly and efficient.
The terrace was quite quiet, but as there were a couple of people smoking, we chose a table far away in the corner. We didn't ask, but it seemed that all the tables had ashtrays and there was therefore no 'No Smoking' area. Even with only a slight breeze, we were bothered by the smoke. By the time we left, the terrace was almost full, so I suggest you get there early, or reserve a table. The tables and chairs are pretty functional (think Bierkeller more than luxury restaurant); a few cushions are scattered around to help with comfort.
Overall, a great lunch and recommended. We will certainly return.
