Have been shopping at Adairs in Belrose for years and can say that the team always has a positive vibe, an inviting store aesthetic and if I can’t find what I need they help me order it. thanks so much for what you do!

I’ve shopped here a fair few times and every single time I’ve left the store feeling super underwhelmed and frustrated with the customer service. The staff are never particularly welcoming or kind. The biggest issue is service at the till. I’ve waited MULTIPLE times at the till for 5-10m waiting to be served just to have a staff member finally get to the till and pop the person they was serving in another section of the store in before me without even acknowledging I’ve been waiting. I know this can be a tricky situation on who to serve first but at least say hello, let me know I’m next and thank me for my patience. I’ve also had staff get to the till and serve someone who just walked over, rather than serve who was next. Last time I was waiting for a while at the till, a staff member finally got to the till with a pile of products, and started price checking them - she didn’t acknowledge me waiting RIGHT in front of her and when I finally got her attention (I only had 1 thing to buy) she bluntly told me to go to the kids section and someone at the till there will help....surely she could have popped me through or told me from the start where to be served. Yes Adairs has nice products, but the staff make it painful to shop there.

We went to buy sheets & a mattress protector. Staff were rude & there was falsely displayed prices. We chose sheets from a display area that had a 50 % off sign with prices of queen size sheets at $74. Also bought a few small items. On paying I questioned the price as it seemed high, with no response from the staff. Outside the store we checked the receipt, which validated our concern, we was charged $35 more for the sheets. I returned (1 min later) & the display sign was removed. The staff member said it was taken down as buyers got the wrong idea. The prices were for sheets elsewhere in the shop & she would not show us the display sign again, saying it was lost. No reduction was offered. This attitude was on top of her colleagues insulting derision when we didnt buy a mattress protector earlier. In addition, Adairs costumer service have not contacted us regarding our concerns. It appears in reviews at least another customer has had the same experience at this store - false price displayed. have had great service from other Adair stores, so am very dissapointed with that store & the companys customer service.

I walked into Adairs with a child with disability today, and walked out half an hour later in tears, and unable to make a purchase, because of the awful way the staff acted towards us.
The child has autism. The first staff member kept us waiting for 15 mins, ignored me, left a ladder unattended, and dished out a lot of filthy looks and sarcasm while the child struggled more and more with the waiting time, and me blocking him from the ladder - which looked like a climbing frame . I then tried to get help from a second staff member. I was trying to buy a kid sofa and just needed help. By now 20 mins later the child was experiencing sensory overload. I got more filthy looks and no offer to help with my item (which I was unable to carry because by now I was carrying a 20kg upset child) . I went to go speak to the manager, was pretty calm and said 'It would be good if your team could be aware of children with disability,' and the manager did not apologise or even smile at me, but basically blamed me for the child trying ti get to the ladder, ladder and said "She (the staff member) was probably trying to get someone to help" (she was not. I was there) I have been to other stores today where we were treated with compassion, the child's disability was accommodated, and I was able to complete our purchases

What should have happened? The first person should not have left the ladder unattended in the children's furniture area, and should have called someone else to help after I had been waiting for ten minutes. A smile or eye contact at any point would have been wonderful.
The second person should have had the tiniest bit of compassion and awareness that maybe some child has sensory issues when they are crying
The manager should have said sorry, and asked what she can do to help, not blamed me, especially after I disclosed the disability. All of them should have not dished out so many dirty looks and negative tone

If someone had a visible disability you would accomodate their needs and have compassion, Why does a child with an invisible disability not deserve basic compassion? And doesn't his caregiver also have a right to go to a store and make a simple purchase without being left in tears?
So many people live with invisible disability. Who will speak up for them if we do not?

Saw a 40% off all cushions on main display bin at entrance of store. Went in to purchase one I nlknew my daughter wanted for Xmas to go with already purchased matching quilt and sheet set. Only to be told not not on sale and that sign was from yesterday. Did not honour or offer any concession. Went to another counter to pass on my disappointment to Mgs only to be told that they would pass it on. No real apology even. One very disappointed Linen Lover....

usually I am ok with other Adairs stores

the staff at Belrose super-centre were unprofessional, the staff kept talking chitchat while the customers are waiting to be served. It was like a self-serving store and the staff were only there to grab your credit card details in the end.

Lazy staff gave the store a bad reputation, what a shame !

Staff are duplicitous and are only intetested in meeting their budgets. Teamwork is non-existent. Would not recommend buying in store, go online.
