My order from BooksDirect arrived on-time and in perfect condition. The packaging was much better than Amazon (several of my recent book orders from Amazon have arrived with minor damage due to their haphazard packaging). Full marks to BooksDirect for their prompt delivery and for ensuring that the item was protected from damage while in transit

Did not receive the books i ordered or a refund from this company despite providing proof i didnt receive the books. Terrible customer service by some snarky woman. But oh well at least im not struggling to make ends meet working at a bookstore but instead made a life of myself and can afford what ever I want. Stupid woman

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! I called the company 2 weeks after placing the order after receiving absolutely no communication from the company about my order (other than the auto reply). I spoke to a very surly lady named Linda and asked for a follow up. Her response and tone implied that I should have known how there operations worked and then begrudgingly explained that 2 books were on the shop floor ready to be sent and 2 books were on order from the publisher and there was not ETA on their arrival. She asked if I was happy to wait or if she should send the incomplete order - I said I would wait. The next day I get an email saying that my order has been dispatched, I figured they found the other books after all and quickly sent them out. I received a delivery from them on September 21st but there was only 1 book in it. There was a note in the invoice saying one book was out of publishing and can not be ordered, but there was no mention on what was happening to the other 2 books, other than a note saying not charged. As the company does not charge until the order is ready, I figured these would come at a later date, but I wanted to know when that might be, so on September 22nd, I called them again to find out what was happening. Again I spoke to Linda who firstly lied by telling me they have tried to call me several times (they did not - I always have my phone with me and I have voicemail). Then she said it clearly stated on the invoice that I will not be receiving the other 3 books - I tried to speak at this point to provide more information but she cut me off and aggressively began to read my invoice to me like I am an idiot. I tried several times to speak but she kept cutting me off and talked aggressively over me. When I finally got to speak, I said that it is very misleading as the note specified just 1 title would not be sent out, she angrily replied saying "well we haven't charged you for that". By this stage I was quite upset and I admit my tone had changed, but I was not yelling and I was not using inappropriate language. I told Linda that I was upset because I had a very tight budget and thanks to the postage charge for a single book, it now made the book more expensive than their competitors - at that point I got a groan as if to say deal with it before she told me that they had contacted me several times regarding this. I reminded her that they had never contacted me by phone OR email and that it was me that had been calling and chasing this up. I also explained that it made a difference to me due to the budget I was on and that the reason we purchased through these guys was because bulk buying made the books more affordable, but now it has become more expensive. At that point Linda told me to call back when I had calmed down and hung up on me. I have worked in call centres for years and never hung up on a customer for being upset. I am aware of my tone and I never reached a point of yelling or swearing, I was simply angry. Really terrible customer service from Linda on 2 occasions and really terrible fulfilment and communication from the business. Honestly there are better companies and prices out there, I would not ever waste another month to NOT get my books, with this company again.
