We stayed here for two nights wanting to have the best chance to see platypus and were not disappointed. We saw platypus every morning and early evening; super convenient just a short stroll down from our cabin. Cabinwas clean and comfortable, fit the bill. Restaurant you have to oreorder in the afternoon and food was fine. Friendly and helpful staff. If you are travelling anywhere near Mackay do not miss out on the platypus experience of a lifetime.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Broken River Mountain Resort. It's nestled within the beautiful Eungella National Park, surrounded by abundant wildlife and pristine nature. The best part was the minute's walk to the creek to spot wild platypuses in their natural habitat. The complimentary guided night tour was also a highlight, adding to the overall experience. This place is truly a gem for nature lovers.

The resort is in a bushland setting. The restaurant is only open Friday & Saturday, though takeaway meals are available during the week. The bush walks are very relaxed. You have to be very patient to look for platypuses, only one was sighted over two days

I really welcoming service desk. Very accommodating considering we didn't read the e-mail stating the end time to meal orders. They comfortably served an extra 5 guests for dinner & were very understanding. Rooms were such a nice clean space.

Stayed here for two nights. Beautiful place and great room to fit family sizes and budgets. Close proximity to the trail heads and the platypus viewing platforms (we made multiple dawn/dusk trips because we were so close).

Clean rooms, well planned resort layout and great bird life.

Close proximity to the town and park.
Free WiFi . No cellular network (like most of Eungella National Park)
Please drive safely at night. Lots of wildlife on the roads after dark.

Nice restaurant and lounge, rooms do have basic cooking facilities.
Visited in August had fine days, cooler nights.

We love this place. We have been going up to the lodge for over 30 years. Ideal for a stay in some of the most beautiful rainforest in Australia. The rooms are always clean, the service is always friendly, and there are lots of beautiful rainforest walks to do. An added bonus is the excitement of seeing a platypus playing in the creek.

Great food, lovely staff. There is no phone reception and wifi is sketchy but that was perfect for disconnecting to be able to focus on what mattered. Got to see 3 platypuses only a short walk from the resort. It was so lovely and green and fresh. Highly recommend.

Relaxing resort in the trees. Cabins are basic but clean and comfortable. Grounds are nicely nestled into the surrounding rain forest. The library is available for use with free wi-fi. The restaurant is not open every night and you need to pre-order. No mobile phone/data coverage. Can purchase an 8hr plan for $5. Fabulously relaxing. :-). Our room has a small fridge/freezer with microwave. The bathroom has a separate toilet and shower. Some larger rooms have a wood fireplace and electric hotplates.

Beautiful place to be, surrounded by rainforest, and the best platypus viewing 50m away. The cabins are rustic and not modern, but everything there is necessary, and it works, including Air conditioning, for hot and cold. The receptionist Siggy was excellent. Unfortunately the tour guide was ill while we were there.

such an awesome get away. right next door to the river that houses a family of platypus's and some really cool walking tracks. we stayed in a two bedroom cabin for $250 p/night and the attention to detail was quite impressive, from the bedding to the kitchen. absolutely spotless. will definitely stay again.

Had a most enjoyable 3-night stay here this week. Comfortable basic cabin facilities, with a wood-fire heater to keep it cosy in the evenings. Friendly, helpful staff. Great rainforest walks nearby, & awesome platypus viewing spots next to the resort.

I visited this venue as I am looking for. Suitable place to hold a yoga and relaxation weekend. It is perfect! The accommodation, yoga hall and location is great. It is surrounded by native forest and the running stream beside the venue is fabulous. There are walking tracks near by, places for meditation. A quiet and serene environment. I will be booking at some stage in the future.

Nestled amidst the rainforest of Eungella National Park, the Broken River Mountain Resort is a tranquil and serene retreat surrounded by nature. The garden of the resort is beautiful, and the accommodations are cozy, providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. While the cleanliness was satisfactory, I had some issues with how credit card payments via third-party booking sites were handled. However, these issues were resolved after discussing them with the resort staff.

During my stay, I enjoyed the view from the Sky Window, embarked on a 16 km hike through the rainforest, and had the delightful experience of seeing platypuses swimming in the river. It was a wonderful getaway that offered a chance to relax and reflect on life.
