Such a cool experience to see so many platypus in their natural habitat. Made for a great day and a very easy walk :)

I visited at midday on a rainy day and was pleasantly surprised to find quite a few platypuses. I think I saw around five in total and in one pond there were three at the one time which I thought was rather strange but then I was told it’s likely the breeding season. Unfortunately, I also picked up a couple of leeches so make sure you bring salt with you and something to sterilise the wounds

Platypus cuteness overload!! It has a very easy access and you’ll see a lot beautiful nature and depends on the time as well platypus (arrive early or in the late afternoon)

You need to visit this place. Inside of the national park, immersed in nature.
Try to spot platypus, the best time is 6am-9am 15pm-19pm
We recommended wearing long clothes and long socks with shoes for the leeches

Stunning area to visit. Gentle walk which is wheelchair accessible. With a bit of patience we saw 2 platypus just near the bridge.

Make sure you wake up very early if you want to see the cute platypus! I arrived at 6am and by 7am I finally saw some bubbles at the surface of the river and there it was.

Eungella Forest Park is wonderfully set up for viewing the platypus. It is amazing to watch these small amphibians in their natural environment.
Shame on the QLD Government for allowing the go ahead with a hydro dam in this most precious, beautiful and natural environment and to destroy the natural habitat of the platypus.
