Best place to see a platypus! There's one or two at each view point, we even saw a baby! They have excellent hearing so DO NOT BRING YOUR DRONE! Someone flew theirs across all the view points throughout the day and scared every single platypus away for hours, preventing a lot of people from seeing them (and didn't get to film them because the platypus heard the drone coming every time).

Beautiful walks and scenery. But... beware of leeches especially after the rain while walking on forest trails. They sit in mud/dead leaves, stick to your shoes as you walk past and get into your shoes. We were attacked by hundreds as we were walking on the Pine Grove to Broken River forest trail in early July after days of heavy rain. This was the section after crossing the river. We made a mistake by wearing open hiking sandals so the leeches got all over our feet. You do not usually feel the bite, so we only discovered them after about an hour hike when we felt some strange tickling and itching. It ruined our adventure and we were forced to turn back. Make sure you wear closed shoes, or better gum boots of something similar if you are venturing out after rain and if the tracks are muddy. There are no leech warnings anywhere in the park.

Well maintained. Bitumen all the way. Able to drive a 8m motorhome up without concern, just take your time. Wheelchair access to all platypus viewing platforms. Very helpful NP Ranger.

Lovely short walk to the viewing platform. Unfortunately we didn't see any platypus but still a lovely experience in nature.

Decided to make a detour here and it was so worth the trip. Managed to spot a platypus only after 5 mins of reaching the place!

Fantastic place excellent location should be more widely published as to what a beautiful place to go for the day or weekend. Not normal but I did end up with a tick in my head but I was collecting fire wood right off the beaten track so my fault. Otherwise enjoy 😉

Went around 16:00, saw few platypuses straight away. And some cute turtles floating around.
Highly recommend if you want to see platypuses. It’s right next to the car park with wheelchair access.
Keep it down so they won’t be disturbed.

Great hike, even though I did it in wet weather. Watch out for leeches.

Except for the rain and cold, this is a beautiful camping spot. It should be only an 8 spot camping area. Last night there were 10 campers. The camping is close to Broken River, the Platypus ponds and a cafe, when it's open. Toilets are close too.

Loved all the platapus in the river. Turtles were entertaining as well. If you are there around lunch time, try the jodel burger - delivered with a short jodel...
