Clearwater Trout Hatchery and Community Fishing Pond

This was an unexpected surprise: just a few minutes walk from our RV park, the kids could try out trout fishing! Nothing comes for free, but here it does. Fishing rod, bait, explanation and unhooking by a volunteer. The kids can stay for hours. Not required at all, but we have put a tip in the donation box. Thanks for making this possible!

We had a great time here! Marc is a super nice and very patient guy! He taught our kids how to fish and they loved it! He explained a lot about the Hatchery and the work they are doing here. Thank you so much for this phantastic experience!

This place is so great! My son and I ended up in Clearwater during a 10-day evacuation of our Alberta town. They had someone their named Mark, manning the pond and helping people fish. He was great and really amazing with my son each time we went there to fish. It was the highlight of our stay in Clearwater.

A great side trip. Free. A stocked trout pond with a guide. You can catch a fish if you have a fishing license. I believe under 16 is no license required. Great for adults or kids.

Great spot to practice casting with the kids. You can use your own gear or borrow rods from them. Closes at 3pm

This place is fantastic to show your kids how to fly fish. They have spinning rods available there for you to use.

The girls that work there are pretty helpful and knowledgeable.

This place was so much fun. I recommend bringing your own rod/reel and lures. The ones on site have been 'well loved' and are sometimes missing lures. We had a couple of our fly rods and we were getting good bites every other cast.

The man that was working there was extremely friendly!! He helped us alot! We could even borrow a free fishing rod!

Awesome time with my toddler at the pond. Caught and released a handful of fish. Friendly staff knew exactly what the fish would take.

Ask for a tour in the info building! The day we went, the guy working there happily showed us around the place and explained what they do here. Very interesting and informative!

Hier muss man nur eine Tageslizenz erwerben und bekommt hervorragendes Equipment kostenfrei zur Verfügung gestellt. Wir sollten alles einfach die nächsten Tage irgendwann wieder bringen. Alles völlig unkompliziert abgelaufen und wir wurden auch noch sehr gut und professionell beraten. Konnten aufgrund der guten Voraussetzungen sogar am Fluss einen Catch verbuchen.
