It was amazing in winter. The last 10 km road was fully covered with snow. (We travelled on Feb 29) So it’s good to go on snow tires. The view is a short walk from the parking lot.

Thunderous falls! Simply breathtaking. 45 minute commute from clear water. Certainly the biggest and the baddest out of the 20 falls. Parking lot 2 minutes away from viewing platform. Information plaques provided.

🌟🌲 A Natural Marvel Worth Witnessing! 🌲🌟

Helmcken Falls in BC is an absolute gem that has left me awestruck! This majestic waterfall, nestled within the breathtaking Wells Gray Provincial Park, is a true masterpiece of nature's beauty. Standing before the thundering cascade, I was humbled by the sheer force and elegance of the water plummeting down the rugged cliffs.

The trail leading to Helmcken Falls offers an invigorating journey through lush forests and captivating vistas. The anticipation builds with each step, and the payoff is beyond imagination. As you approach the viewing platform, the mist caresses your skin, and the sound of crashing water echoes through the canyon — a sensory symphony that's impossible to forget.

Whether you're an avid nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a moment of serenity, Helmcken Falls will not disappoint. The pristine wilderness surrounding the falls adds to its allure, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and travelers alike.

Prepare to be transported to a realm where the power of nature takes center stage, leaving you in awe of the Earth's wonders. Helmcken Falls has etched itself into my heart, and I can't wait to return to this awe-inspiring masterpiece of nature's creation.

This waterfall is huge! Pictures don't do it justice. The spray from the water has eroded the rock, carving a giant bowl-like shape behind the falls. You have to come listen to the sound and see its beauty for yourself :) this is probably the shortest walk to view a waterfall in the whole park.

This is undoubtedly the coolest waterfall I have ever seen! It's as if it came straight out of a fantasy movie, with a setting that makes you imagine a dragon living nearby or in the dark carved-out part of the fall. The fall is ten times better than what you see in the pictures.

However, please note that finding it might be a bit challenging since there is no service (data) detectable in the area, and our Google Maps was not working. I highly recommend planning ahead for navigation before heading here!

Well worth the drive! Beautiful and unique waterfalls. The viewing platform is really close to the carpark, so it is an easy walk to this amazing experience. The drive from Highway 5 is around 35km.

If you are in the area (Kamloops, Cariboo, Clear water). This waterfall is a must visit and on the way there are a few other falls (Dawson falls , Spahat falls) with easy access and a must visit. Wells Gray Park has so much geographical history and beauty.

Amazing. We visit these amazing falls at least once a year. The hike in from the south side is quite nice and absolutely worth it. The unrestricted view of the falls is breathtaking. If you are able to hike in, I highly recommend it. Take your time as the path can be uneven in parts ... there are tree roots and rocks that can trip you up but aside from one or two small hills the hike is mostly flat.

Really impressive waterfall, specially if you do the 6km hike to get the view from the other side.

Well worth the drive up to see these, and such a short walk from the parking lot. It takes little to no effort to get to these falls and be completely blown away by these fall. You can see the mist from the falls be pushed back up higher than the falls themselves. The sight and sounds are awesome and stunning

Absolutely stunning. There is an entry point on each side of the falls. If you drive farther into Wells Grey Park there is an extensive tourist site with a great deal of information about the history of the falls.

If you want a decent hike: the first entry to the falls is a easy to miss, but is called the south rim trail. This trail is a bit technical with exposed roots and fallen trees.

It is so beautiful. You can drive all the way up to the falls and it’s barely a 2 minute walk to the viewpoint.

One of Canada’s most beautiful waterfalls and rightfully so. A short walk from the carpark brings you to a spectacular view point. Heard that the Rim Walk gives even better views but was a bit pressed for time so next time maybe! A must visit if you’re around the area. Everyone should see this waterfall!

Beautiful Falls easy to reach within a 2 min. walk from the parking lot. Hiking your way iver on the 8 km trail on the other side is way more fun and you get closer to the Falls with a very different view. The hike goes through a beautiful forest along the waters with quite and shallow areas and some rapids as well. Distanze and unfenced edge makes it not suitable for younger kids.

Really great hike (more of a nature walk) to a viewing area of the falls. About 4 kms in and 4 kms out. Took us an hour and half there and back. Would have been a really great spot to have a picnic with the view of the falls in nature but we had our dog and there is no barrier at the cliff. We drove around to the viewing platform to see it from the other side and there are picnic benches on that side.
