This path has been renovated for easier access in 2024 with the addition of a good car park at the trail head and a well marked trail. We are a couple in our mid-60s who like walking and this hike came as an unexpected joy after having walked the better advertised falls. We clambered down close to the base of the triple decker in the cool of the wooded valley and then went on to the new bridge over Candle Creek. A lovely mid-May morning's hike (visited 14th May, 2024).

Well worth the moderate incline short hike.

Large parking lot , trail seems to be recently upgraded

Really nice secluded waterfall. The walk from the car park is quite easy and short.

We went there late in the day after we visited the other falls farther from the town. It was worth the trip. The trails to the falls were newly done, wide and clearly marked. It’s all going down so be prepared to walk up hill on your way back to parking lot. Gorgeous falls. Easily accessible and not even 10 minutes from the town.

It’s a mangeable walk to the beautiful falls. Quite steep so were proper hiking shoes but it’s really worth the descent! My inlaws of 60+ managed it very well. Just make sure to look for the small sign to the falls (need to trun left) so that you don’t go straight (river Trail) and way too far (what we unfortunately did). The trail has been closed but you can walk it.

Triple Decker Falls isn’t the most mesmerizing waterfall in Clearwater, but it’s definitely worth checking out. The falls is along Clearwater Valley Road in a secluded area only a 5-minute drive from town. We were enthusiastically recommended to go here by one of the attendants at the visitor centre who said it was one of her favourites. It’s a brief 10-15 minute downwards hike with a slight incline, but not to a point where it’s unmanageable for an average person. On a cloudy day after light rain, the trail can be a bit slippery, so proceed with caution when the weather isn't on your side.

Absolutely beautiful, the pictures don’t do this place justice, you must see it for yourself. The trailhead starting point says trail is closed but I had no issues getting to the falls. The hike down to the falls is quite steep and slippery, don’t underestimate it. However anyone with a moderate amount of fitness should be able to get to the falls without any issues, just make sure to budget the appropriate amount of time for it and be careful on the slippery sections. Stunning views, highly recommend

Know that the trail starts next to the big Woodlot 301 sign on your left, 4.4 km after the roundabout.
Steep hike, but definitely worth it.
We preferred this one to the Spahats as it's not crowded and can be seen down from the river. Very impressive.

Short steep 1.6km round trip hike, about 7km north of Clearwater. Don't let other reviews of how steep it is scare you away. My family all hiked it in runners just fine, although we did skid a few times. Four of the five of us chose to borrow the poles donated at the top and were glad we did. My 15 year old had runners and no pole and beat us all there.

Once you arrive at the falls you can scramble around on the rocks but again be aware some rolcs and logs are not sturdy and most are slippery to some extent. My 10 year old did just fine on this hike. All three of my kids said this was one of their top three favourite waterfalls in Wells Gray, because of how they could hike right to the bottom and it felt so rustic. We went at 10:30am on a Monday in late August and in the 1.5 hours we were on the trail and at the falls, we did not see anyone else.

Not that steep despite what others say- just not good for a stroller or cane or walker. Worth the hike. If you are in moderate shape, you'll be fine.

That hike is no joke. Thankfully short but is it ever steep and slippery. I'm use to dirt having something to it in the lower mainland but this stuff was like sand and powder. It's definitely doable but just go slow and enjoy. It's beautiful!

be Very careful, wear good shoes, use a stick and watch your step, this is a very steep climb and very difficult for the active guy like me, very loose dirt. Worth every step to get these photos.

Really nice waterfall, a little hard to access for people who are not used to hike.
I went until the Candle Creek falls but it's not worth it in my opinion.

I absolutely loved it especially cuz it’s still wild and not fenced off like the rest of them. You won’t see any signs on the road but Google maps take you to the right spot. It’s right when the concrete blocks end there is little “parking” spot and you will see a sign where trail begins - very steep so make sure you have shoes with good grip and grab generously donated hiking poles. It’s short steep but omg so worth it.
When I looked up places to see in Wells Grey it wasn’t there (maybe a good thing once it becomes popular it will loose it charm) but only found it when I looked on AllTrails app

It is a relatively short, but steep trail leading from a small parking lot next to the street through the mountains. Lovely waterfall with possibility of bathing for those who like cold water

SO pretty. Pretty steep in some places so I’d wear the right shoes but don’t let it scare you off! I definitely think that most could manage and it’s well worth it

Amazing view once you get down. The trail is steep with loose gravel so be sure footed when going down. There is a short span on the trail with a wooden railing. DON'T use the railing for support. It's very loose.

It's a steep hike down to the falls but well worth the effort
