Lovely hike, have done it many times. I like the high knolls, not to strenuous. About 5-6km total. There was a beaver dam and beaver we could see, plethora of birds & beauty. My tip would be to be careful for parking lot gate closure times. We went in a cloudy day here in Feb. The views are stunning in the spring & summer and with that.. some crowds too! Worth it!

Great place to spend a few hours.

The majority of the trail is easy. There are sections of the trail I would say is moderate. Can be hard for young children in these sections.

Parking is limited, but there is limited parking on the street as well.

Out house washroom by the parking area.

Slippery sections as it's winter.

Majorly swooned by this magnificent place. Family and I hike here countless times, all year round. Oodles of thanks to the kind folks who maintain the park so so so so well!

Absolutely gorgeous park.
It was great seeing all the kinds of birds and mushrooms that grow there. They have a few interactive spots where you can do some community science, which was the cherry on top for me. Will be definitely coming back!

Wonderful park! We went in the morning (8:30am) and did not spot a lot of wildlife (a deer on the road, lots of toads, one turtle and a pelican) as mentioned on lots of reviews. Picnic area is by the lodge, there’s a very clean outhouse. We did all the trails except for the high knoll. It’s great entertainment for the entire family, the kids had a great time!

I've hiked here a couple of times (before and after the fire). It was remarkable to see it recently, recovering from that fire.

It is a gem, quietly tucked away in a deep pocket of Coquitlam. My friend remarked as we walked, that she couldn't believe she had never been there before. Lots of wildlife, and well-maintained trails, for the most part - I mean, it is a forest, in a huge, regional park, after all; pretty decent signage, too. Plenty of stunning viewpoints and little out-and-back offshoots, along the way, worth exploring.

Toadlet migration season (as I write this) is bizarre experience: you must watch every step, on some sections of the trails.

Great Blue Herons, lots of songbirds; frogs, toads, beavers*/ dams in the marsh; bears*, coyotes* (*not seen this trip, but we were told there was a sow & 3 cubs just ahead).

There are some seriously tall root "steps" on part of the trail on the marsh loop; last year, my mom hiked with my family up there, and my husband had to lift up, and back down, because she is just shy of 5' tall. Will definitely be back!

Be bear aware!!!

Such a beautiful spot, you can really feel it that you are at the foot of the mountains.

Came a little close for comfort to a mama bear and her cub, suggest you don’t take food with you! Also don’t move closer to the bear to take photos…(saw this).

The tiny toadlets are everywhere, hopping across the trails, if you just wait a moment, you can avoid stepping on them :-)

Recommend the lower trails for easier hikes, the high lookout is pretty steep. Also, it’s a bit of a trek to get there with current road closures.

Such a verdant, vibrant marsh, with several well-kept trails.

Beautiful entry level hike. Great for kids. Lots of wildlife (beaver, bear, toads, etc). Watch out for the bear family.... Mother and cub. They are not afraid of people. We had to back-up and give them space before they cleared the trail.

Variety of routes and viewpoints so that you have options on the kind of trail difficulty you’d like to walk. It has been well taken care of.

This park is basically a bear sanctuary. Easy intensity hiking trail to bring family but be equipped with bear bells. We encountered 9 bears in 2 hours :) Keep a safe distance, noise alone doesn’t work well for curious bear cubs (and the mother follows closely behind), just keep backing up loudly so they have space. The lake is beautiful, like a Claritin box ad manifested

Beautiful views, great trails. The High Lookout has the best views and it’s an easy trail if you are in moderate shape, just has a couple of steep sections. The walk around the Marsh is great for bird watching!

Just be Bear Aware at all times.

Was here for a friend's wedding and the place was set up beautifully. Although ald and dated, this added to the charm with plenty of wildlife around, we saw a couple of bears and some hummingbirds on our trip there, beautiful lodge in a beautiful location, just be weary that if you are going to an event here and it finished late, taxi drivers do not like coming out there, we had 2 cancel on us before one eventually took the fare, plan in advance, and be sure to make sure they are coming!

Beautiful park with plenty of amazing views. The scenery here is jaw dropping. It was my first time here today, but will become a regular visit. Excited to explore the trails! Saw a few bears, they minded their own business but I'd still suggest bear spray just in case.

I absolutely loved this place! I went for a sunrise hike with a few friends and brought bear spray just in case we had ran into any, since we had heard that they are very common. We had hiked the high knoll trail first, and then went down to the lake, and wow, the reflection was breathtaking! Also saw tons of wildlife! Will definitely be coming back in the future!

Lovely park with great view of the lake and the wood. There is a free parking and a sign that worn that many recent cars break ins. After few minutes walk there are picnic tables for visitors near a ramp to a nice viewpoint. Highly recommended.

One of the easiest, most beautiful trail/hikes I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend checking this gorgeous gem out when you’re in the area!

Beautiful trail. Great for sunset. Be advised that there are parts of the trail that have difficult footing and rocky stairs with steep incline. Please take out your trash to ensure this park stays as beautiful as it was today. Feb 2022.

Beautiful piece of land just north east of Port Coquitlam. Great for running and walking solo or with friends.
