Vast trails to walk or run around. They all connect to one another. Busier in the early mornings but after 10am, it’s quiet and peaceful.

You do not need a dog to be here. The trees are majestic with different shapes and curved mysteries.
The sound of the birds.. occasional snake slithering by is surreal.

It’s my peaceful haven.

Advice: Wear comfortable shoes as the trails are not manicured to perfection. They are dusty, a perfect dog’s kingdom.

Nice quiet spot with loads of creatures running around. Not exactly the best place to push a stroller, so bring your baby carrier or pip your kid up on your shoulders.

Summit Wood is a wonderful place to resource in Montreal, with about 20 hectares of urban forest it is a great place for a walk.

The great thing is you can start at the summit lookout, which is a great viewpoint of the city (you can also see downtown) then after walking through the woods you can end your visit at l’Oratoire Saint-Joseph.

All dogs go to Summit Woods, if dogs can have their dream come true. Summit woods is at the center of residence of WestMount and Montreal, on the hill. As soon as I walked into the wood from Summit Ave, I came into contact with dogs and dogs, so many of them. Is Montreal a cosmopolitan of dogs? Seem like it, there are so many different breeds I never saw before. They are beautiful and well trained. It worth the trip just to go and meet dogs.
It is unfortunate that the lookout overlooking St Laurent River is closed because of structure issue. I am not able to enjoy a full view of the city below. I enjoyed the walk in the wood so much and it made you totally forget about the city.

Unfortunately, that’s the only place in CDN area where you can walk you dog off leash.
The park is great especially in winter time when you can let the dogs run around all day long! 1-2 rounds is more than enough for a good start of the day for you and your dog!

It's a nice place to walk after trudging up the twists and turns to the top of the hill. Many rich folk live nearby and it's fun to gawk at their luxurious abodes. The roads are still uniquely terrible as you would expect from Montreal. I would walk there again for sure.

Very nice little woods for a little escape from the city without going far. Small parking space for about 6 cars, though different access points from all over. Easy trails, can't really get lost. Typically spend about an hour, 2 max. To my knowledge they're are no picnic tables, which I prefer to avoid human trash and animals getting fed that way, we have enough of that in all the municipal parks. During my visits I've seen less squirrels than I have around our house. But I did bring along lunch once and we sat on a log and ate just fine (with kids 2, 3, and 5 years old). It has a lookout point which is temporarily closed (I think due to covid 19). No known water fountains either. Oh and beware of poison ivy!

A forest within the city. Dog friendly. A good walk, explore and mushroom hunt with the kids. No benches, tables or playgrounds. Rest sitting on big rocks and logs. Not a place for picnics, more on strolls, walks or jogging with your pets or love ones.

We were looking for a spot to watch winter solstice sunset. Pretty good even though the view is not expansive due to trees and very big houses.

Small but full of wonder and excellent friendly people. Wonderful place to bring your dogs off leash. Great education posters. Paths are very slippery when wet.

If you have a dog you NEED to try this space. Lots of space to run many trails, secluded from traffic (note that it is not a fenced park so ensure your dog has recall skills) and all dogs who come are always nice. Sunsets are beautiful also
