Fossil Farms Oceanside Retreat

My wife and I spent a couple of days here and it was amazing. We were met right away by Doug and Dean and they were so helpful and welcoming. Our room was big, comfortable and clean. I love the hands off approach they have about letting you explore the grounds and use the bikes, say hi to the animals, the kayaks. Just a gorgeous and peaceful experience. If you’re looking for a place to stay while road tripping then this is the spot. It’s right between PEI and Cap Breton. Next time we go to the east coast I’m bringing friends and coming back to fossil farm

A wonderful spot to get away from it all. It poured with rain most of the time, but when the sun came out it was full of special nooks and crannies to explore. The cottage was new and had lots of space for everyone to relax. I would highly recommend.

Spent 5 days at the Retreat and totally loved it! Took advantage of the kayaks, golf carts, petted the animals and enjoyed picking and tasting the blueberries! Wonderful grounds, staff and location. Very highly recommend for a wonderful holiday!

To be quite honest I don’t want to give away the secret, because I’m scared I’ll never get a booking again, but: this place is heaven on earth. We’ve been twice now and next time, it will be for longer. This sort of peace is hard to find. Simple, quiet pleasures. And the staff are just outstanding. Hospitality in the truest sense.

Beautiful location. bachelor chalet was great everything was new and looked brand new too. Lots to do in area.Tried smores and it was great. Outdoor pool was nice. Staff were very friendly.

We stayed in the one bedroom cottage with the Yellow Chairs and it looked like we were the first guests to stay there...it was spotless. After travelling across Canada, the cottage was my oasis...everything about the cottage encourages you to relax and enjoy yourself and I did😁. There is so much to see and do at Fossil Farms - the barn is a work of art in itself and includes everything a big kid (my husband) could want to entertain himself. I even tried (reluctantly) the Virtual Reality roller coaster ride and didn't like it any better than the real ones I've been on😬. The staff are amazing - accommodating, knowledgeable and eager to show you everything the farm has to offer...the best was feeding the sheep out of my hand😁. The neighbours were friendly and includes an amazing wood carver who has a workshop on the property so I was even able to satisfy my shopping addiction 😬. Fossil Farms is also in a good location to use as a home base to explore more of Nova Scotia...such a beautiful province 😁.

A friend and I stayed at Fossil Farms in August - a beautiful time of year! The cottage was fantastic and had everything we could possibly need for our weekend stay. There were so many different options of things to do during our stay, from kayaking in the Northumberland Strait to morning yoga, and even indoor activities in the event of poor weather (board games, books, puzzles, Netflix). Luckily the weather was ideal for our stay and we got to tour the extensive grounds of the farm.
We were given a private tour by the staff, being shown everything the property has to offer (the bee apiary was very interesting!). Each staff member we met was incredibly friendly and generous. I will definitely be returning as often as I can!!

We were there and absolutely loved it. Accomodation top notch with a full kitchen. Lots to do on the property , Blueberry picking , Golf carts to ride on the property , swimming pool , Kayak. Best relaxing trip we had in a long time ! Highly Recommend ! :)
