My hair felt heavy so I wanted to get layered cut with curtain bang, round layers. I was a bit nervous tbh because I’ve never been satisfied in Canada, but my doubt clearly blew off soon as I talked to her. Courtney is so considerate, confident, and she knows what customer wants. She cared of my hair texture, facial shape, even tried to break the ice haha. I was into her energy and of course I loved the result! Highly recommend👍

I have been going to see Courtney for years now and I am always so impressed with how she colours, cuts, and styles my hair! I always get compliments on my hair even if its been weeks after she's coloured it! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair and it always brightens my day being able to see her!

Courtney is an absolute wizard with hair! The studio vibes are immaculate (not just Waterloo but their other locations too). I always feel welcomed - being offered a coffee or something to drink with I arrive. Worth every penny!

She really listened to what I needed my haircut to be like and did such a wonderful job too! She was really sweet and also helped me figure out what hair colour I could do for my next appointment. Shae has been the only stylist I’ve had who really is a master at getting my hair to look as close as possible to its natural colour while still keeping dimension in there. Her sense of colour theory is very impressive and she is easy to talk to! I appreciate the later in the day slots as well.

The most wonderful hair salon I've ever been to! I've been seeing Mary for a couple years now and she's the best. Professional, funny and my hair always turns out perfect! The salon is clean, friendly and has a beautiful atmosphere.

New to the area and was looking for someone fix me up, I had a year of root growth and was looking forward to getting back to blonde. Mary at the salon was amazing! We chatted before she started on my hair and even gave me the price so there was no surprise at the end. Will definitely go back and would recommend to anyone!

100/10. OK quick story time: I'm super anxious about changing up my hair and have only had it dyed twice before visiting Rachel at So Lara. She put my anxiety about dying my hair again at ease with lots of open communication before and during my appointment. We did a big chop and a full colour. It was the first time I've come home from a hair salon absolutely glowing and IN LOVE with my hair! Rachel was SO lovely to work with, she worked quickly with confidence, was lovely to chat to, consulted my opinion on colour and style throughout my appointment and made the whole experience really enjoyable! If you want to have the best haircut of your life, visit Rachel and So Lara, run, don't walk. You wont regret it!! Thank you Rachel!

I see Rachel at this location and she’s amazing. She does great low-maintenance highlights that look super beachy and natural, and she can also cuts hair well. She does it all. Highly suggest.

Rachel is hands down the BEST and most trusted hair stylist. She puts her heart and soul into making sure you get exactly what you ask for. I am always blown away by her work and leave her salon chair feeling my most confident. She will tailor your experience to fit your hairs wants and needs and always does what is best to ensure you are happy and your hair is healthy. She has extreme attention to detail and makes the entire experience so positive and fun!

Courtney Zinken does a phenomenal job. Everytime I get my hair done it is better than the last time. I have had many stylist over the years and she is the first to get me the perfect ashy blonde every time. She is honest about what cut/ styles will or won’t suit my features which I really appreciate .

She treats every client like her best friend while remaining super professional. She constantly goes out of her way to help the other stylists with advice on colour and cuts while continuing to provide amazing customer service to her clients.

I followed her from the Kitchener, location which is much closer to my house, to Waterloo when she moved studios and I’d follow her pretty much anywhere. I don’t trust anyone else with my hair anymore.

Studio So Lara is clean, bright and trendy. Everyone is so welcoming and kind when you visit. It really is the best salon in town. And Courtney is the best stylist!!

She was able to manage my expectations while making sure that we agreed on the vision every step of the way. Loved my hair experience ! I went to the Kitchener location in the past and didn’t vibe with the stylist but I really enjoyed the stylists at the Waterloo location. They were all so friendly and the shampoo chair was so comfortable. I definetley recommend seeing cassia!!

Wow. This was the BEST experience I’ve ever had with a salon. I called today for a colour correction and they fit me in with Reyhan for a consult. They were friendly and super transparent about price and what products they were using. I was able to get it fixed the same time as the consult and Reyhan not only fixed my colour, she worked MAGIC. This place exceeds expectations. The studio is bright, clean, and the vibe is amazing. The stylists support each other and treat their assistants with kindness. I will be coming back as a regular here for sure!!!

I have been going to Studio So Lara for years and I have never been disappointed. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating, it truly is a wonderful experience. I am going to regret this because you will take all of her appointment spots!!... BUT Courtney Zinken is absolutely phenomenal at what she does. She has taken me from bright blonde to dark and back again effortlessly (even when my hair doesn't want to cooperate). Besides the great "Bangs incident of 2020", there has been nothing bad I could say about Courtney's professionalism. (Just kidding she's incredible, the bangs were my fault... we've all made the mistake). If you are looking for an all around friendly, relaxing and extremely positive experience then definitely do not hesitate to book your appointment.
