J&R Pizzeria

Love this place! They are so welcoming, so friendly and super hardworking! I went in about 3 times in my trip, and every time the food was on point! Classic spot and from what I’ve learned they’ve been there for a while, and I see why! They were even so kind enough to sell me meat and sauce separately so I could transport it back home to my family who’s from out east and absolutely loves and would kill for donairs! Next time I’m around I’ll be for sure coming back to see you guys! 10/10 love what they do and love the work ethic of these guys! Can’t wait to see you guys soon!

The food is the greatest i’ve had in Nova Scotia, I’m from Ontario and this was better than all the pizza in Ontario that I’ve eaten. The staff had an very nice and positive attitude towards the customers and were a joy to talk to. The prices are very affordable as well, I got food for two with drinks for only $30 and had leftovers for the next day. Definitely an overall great experience, 10/10 would recommend.

Okay, so I was told that this was the place to go in Kingston, so I had to try it out.

I was there for the week on a work trip.

First time I ordered a donair pizza, which was good, but I should have ordered a bigger size.

While I was waiting I saw something on the menu that stirred me into a frenzy.

There it was, big and bold.

A Steak King.

Now, I used to get them at the King of Donair here in Halifax, but I haven't been able to to find me one since King of Donair stopped making the Steak King and decided to call themselves KOD.

That's right.

They went and got sissified.

Now, don't get me wrong. The KOD (pause to spit), still has the best donairs in Halifax, but when they stopped making the Steak King they broke my heart.

Well, J&R Pizzeria put a big old greasy bandaid across my poor old broken heart.

So I went back the next day and got myself a Steak King.

The fellow who ran the place was a nice enough gent. He asked me how I liked that Steak King.

"Go away," I said. "Me and this Steak King want to be alone together."

So I tell you this. There is another pizzeria in Kingston that I had planned to try, but once I saw that Steak King I didn't bother going anywhere else.

Next time you pull into Kingston, park yourself handy to J&R Pizzeria and order yourself something good to eat!

I guarantee good eating aplenty!

Excellent!! Not skimpy on the meat or sauce.. ordered a couple times from them. One time was not too long before closing and they were so extremely friendly and kind about it!! Excellent service and excellent domains!!

Great food and great service! Now they have extra large containers of donair sauce when you order garlic fingers so that's an added bonus because who likes running out of sauce halfway through your pizza and garlic fingers.

Small place not really good to dine in but excellent food and customer service.

I had my first east coast Donair and its was phenomenal! I had the medium one and I could easily had the small they we're not cheap on the meat!!!! Their garlic bread was to die for! Can't wait to go again :)

A1 Food

The staff is amazing! My four year old daughter really needed the potty and during COVID bless them they allowed her to use the restroom facilities which have been otherwise locked and not for public use. .
Their prices are reasonable and as far as my kids and I are concerned it's the best pizza in Kingston 💙

We were camping at the Yogi Bear Campground and wanted to dine out for our Daughter's birthday. We chose J&R Pizzeria to have Pizza.
The vegetarian Pizza we ordered was great and the family was very friendly and welcoming.
Had a great dine out!

Moved to Bridgetown from Halifax almost a year ago…….stopped by for their Donairs and they are better than anything I had in the city for years! Good sizes, meat and sauce are top notch. Great job, Gentlemen!

Amazing garlic fingers. I stop in every time for a doniar when I visit home now. Best doniar in the valley. Don't forget the pizza kids gave 4.5 out of 5. (Pepperoni and cheese.) Kids are honest, just like me for food ratings. We just ordered for pick up. I alway have a chat with the boys. (Owners and his sons) but this time we spoke with his lovely wife for our first time.

Thank you again. We will see you next time we are in the valley. I always recommend everyone that I know that are going in the area to try them out. If you are in the Kingston-Greenwood area, give them a try!

Such incredible pizza and donairs. I've been eating here for about 18 years now and will continue to. The staff are friendly, but the owners, sneaky! NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION : They are not sneaky in a bad way, rather, they rarely let you tip. Given the quality of the food and the amazing staff, they deserve to be. Make sure you tell them you want to tip BEFORE you pay and make sure they do it lol.

You guys are doing great, and have been for over half of my life. Keep up the great work, and let your customers pay you for the great job you do. YOU BEYOND DESERVE IT ❤

Before I was posted to Greenwood, I had no idea donairs even existed. J&Rs was my first try about a year and a half ago and made me realize how much I was missing out on! Donairs have become one of my favs. I’ve been going back whenever the craving hits ever since. Great people & they’re never shy on toppings either! Amazing, highly recommend J&Rs!

Was the best donair I had when I moved here and is still my favorite, and the best donair meat I’ve ever had. The veggies look yummy and fresh, and the sauce is amazing. I’ll probably eat a donair here every week. Amazing service, they really do care about their business which is hard to find now a days. Thanks j and r pizzeria 💯 🙏

Great food, service exceptional

I wish there were more stars to give them a higher rating. Wow where do I begin?! We came from the city for a camping trip and among all of the hustle and bustle of the trip we forgot our connecting piece to our propane stove, so after a few days of cooking over fire and choking myself out we decided we were going to take out. Well J & R's was the first place we picked because of the ratings, and we'll, I am so glad we did. We have found our new go to place every time we are down their way. The reviews didn't lie one bit. We came at the latter end of the night when they were almost closed( our bad we never thought to see if they were open). But I believe it may have been the owner who insisted we stay anyway. We would have but I didn't want to keep them after they closed so we ordered and waited to take our food out. He made our cheese pizza first probably assuming that was for the kids so while we waited for the second the kids could have eaten it. He kept insisting we were ok to stay. Then when the order was done he looked to see if it was cheaper to pay singly for my pizzas even though I got the special just because one was a cheese only pizza not a specialty. I tried to tip him and he wouldn't take it. I paid for my pizza's then realized I forgot about the pop I had so I went to pay him and he said it's on me. I again tried to tip him and he he cupped the tip jar so I couldn't put money in it. Then ran around the counter to hold the door for us. I'm sorry this was a long rant review but it was the good kind. I loved the Donair pizza and cheese pizza. I can't wait to go back to get a Donair and other yummies. This is, and I mean is the FIRST place in my whole life that I've ever had this much exceptional service in my life! Thank you for your outstanding business, hospitality and food. We will be back.

The service at this pizzeria is really good the people are very friendly the place is clean they are very efficient in how they make your food and the food is wonderful you people have to go there and get a slice of pizza it is so good they are nice size slices and enjoy it the staff there are amazing the food is wonderful if you go there to eat you will not be disappointed enjoy it and if you need another review about another place let me know have a good one

Been going here since i was younger and they were KOD. I still make sure i go here when i come home. Best pizza, best donair, and the best people! I tell people in Calgary about this place all the time. Cant beat it!

Had a slice with a cup of donair sauce and it was AMAZING. Found my new go to Pizza Joint here in Kingston. If you are looking for delicious pizza with good sauce and tasty donair sauce, this is your place.
