The Old Newcastle House Taps & Grill

Lovely pub with a great outdoor patio. My first visit the other day and I thought it was really nice. All food was of a good quality and tasted fresh and well cooked. I had the mushroom and Swiss burger and it was superb. My wife tried the bean burger and that was also good. I’ll definitely visit again when in the area.

We decided to go back and give this place a second chance. My friends and I decided to have a late mid day lunch. It was a beautiful day for the patio. Tonya, was our server and she was amazing. Pleasant & funny to chat with, her colleagues were great at engaging as well. The food was tasty, and the service was fantastic. Especially, when we started to move with the sun at our table, musical chairs, it was jokes. I am a believer in second chances, so I'm glad we went back! Thank you, Great Job!!!

This place is just as it’s referred to “the best kept secret in Newcastle”. Food here is exceptionally good, have never had a bad meal here and always great service from the wonderful staff. Hard to find. Spot that can pour a Guinness these days. Not here though. Often I drive 2 towns over just to visit here for a meal and a pint. Best wings, Shepard pie, Parmesan chicken. And so on. I highly recommend this spot!

Amazing service.
Went last night with my best friend, the spin art dip is fantastic!!! Spoke to Tanya on the phone, told her how impressed I was with Her reviews and once I was seated she made the time to come to my table and thank me for the compliment even though she wasn't my server. So good I made a second reservation for tonight withy fiance.

This place is cute as a button and the food is delicious. The patio is lovely and while the menu is on the smaller every thing on it is splendid. The servers were all great and it's just an overall gorgeous spot

Stumbled upon The Old Newcastle House as we were driving through Newcastle. The weather was great and they have outdoor and indoor seating. The selection of beers and cocktails was great. We have the appetizer sampler as a meal which was enough for two men. Wonderful place and will return if in the area.

I ordered the bacon wrapped, cheese stuffed mini meatloaf with mushrooms.
The service was excellent.
A lot of history on the walls, very interesting.
Thers is also a mainfloor washroom.
Quaint and cozy atmosphere.

I decided to go by and try their ice cream trailer That they have been advertising so much on this beautiful Canada Day weekend!

There is lots of parking and Two picnic tables with umbrellas also there is a bench to sit on and eat your ice cream.

There is a great selection of flavours and the prices are very reasonable.

The young lady serving us was very polite and quick

The ice cream that we got is the lilac coloured mini eggs and the peanut butter pretzel they were both really good my little friend got a kids cotton candy that he could barely finish.

Ice cream was delicious we would definitely go back and I recommend that you go!

My son and I had lunch on the patio there today and the service and food was amazing. The Old Newcastle House Taps and Grill never disappoints!! My son had the Teriyaki Salmon Bowl from the New Summer Menu and I had my go to favourite a Buffalo Chicken Wrap in a pineapple curry sauce . Both were delicious. I will be back next week with friends, and my son and I will be back again soon. I am so glad you survived the pandemic, the Village of Newcastle would not be the same without you!

My boyfriend and I had our first visit here for lunch today. Delicious food. Fast and friendly service. Definitely will be back.

This has become our new favourite place. We discovered it on a double date and were so impressed. From the drink choices, the amazing AAA steak’s, pasta (🤤) and Yorkie Bowls, to delicious desserts…you really have to visit this cute little pub. You won’t be disappointed and we are tough critics!!

Excellent food, a few minutes from the 401. A much better option than the overcrowded chain places off the highway. Eclectic decor that emphasizes their pride of Newcastle. Lots of food options including gluten free meals.

Stopped by on a random weekday for lunch and glad we did! Food was great and the staff aswell. Will be back if we drive by that again!
