This is hands down the best animal hospital we have ever taken our beloved dog to. We are just grateful they are taking new clients because we would have missed out! Dr. Finlayson and her wonderful staff have been amazing, quick to respond and have lead us through an extremely stressful time with our girl, Miss Katie, providing information, showing efficiency along with a high level of compassion! Recently got a puppy back in February, and they’ve been nothing short of amazing, addressing any concerns, asking every single annoying question I had. They were absolutely amazing !

Dr. Finlayson finally diagnosed our cats eye issues instead of passing it off as "just her face" the technician (unsure of her name) was wonderful and Kelly at the front desk is lovely. We had mediocre experiences with previous vets being afraid of our dog as well as misdiagnosing our cat urinary issues, Stewiacke River have been very sweet on all 3 of our pets they have treated and our dog isn't as nervous to enter here as she was the other space. It was also very cheap to get our kitten fixed and he never had any issues/was acting normal that same evening playing and eating. Highly recommend.

Was recommended to visit this clinic. Dr. Finlayson did listen to my concerns and ran the test we thought necessary. However my bill for an exam, bloodwork and meds was almost $1000. She was not friendly. My dog had a vocal panic attack out back in the treatment area that I could hear which was a first for her in 6 years of vet visits elsewhere and hasn't happened since at new vet.
She needed a follow up for the same issue and I was told she'd have another exam fee every single time we come regardless if it's only a tech appointment or not. I was told the doctor suggested if I was unhappy with that, I could have her records transferred. First and only visit being $1000, money not the concern, I didn't expect to be pushed away for asking why another $100 exam fee for the same issue only 2 months later when we knew it would be ongoing. Gave 2 stars because we got a small hint at what her issue might be. I switched clinics, paid half of that, got more answers and am happy with my decision.

I was happy to get a next day appointment here for my 14 year old cat who is showing cognitive decline, as well as weight loss and vomiting. They performed an exam ($110), two x-rays ($288) and a Senior Feline blood panel ($410). My total was $929.20 with tax. For all of this money, I was told that they had no idea what was wrong with him.

I asked for a print out of the blood test results (which they seemed to think was weird) and looked at them myself. Half an hour of google researching led me to multiple things that could be issues, none of which I was told about or asked if I wanted further testing for. Even the test results page I was given recommended a urinalysis be conducted based on the results but I wasn’t told that. I am going to get a second opinion and ask for a urinalysis as well as tests for FeLV and FIV (both of which he displays the symptoms of).

For the amount of money I spent, I received next to nothing. My guess is that as a new clinic, they’re trying to recoup the high costs of purchasing all of that new equipment as fast as possible. I won’t be recommending them though.
