I really enjoyed visiting Fort George. The best part included both a musket and cannon firing by period dressed park staff. One of the staff members explaining the musket firing was so knowledgeable about the history that I never heard him let a question go unanswered. His answers were both detailed and interesting. Even his knowledge of American history would have put many of us Americans to shame!

Had a great run through with this fort, didn’t have much time so I took what I could, my captions might be a bit inaccurate, but based on what I know they should be at least close, starting off. Parking was around 7-8$ and is enforced but you can have a card tap for payment(make it easy when you don’t have cash) for those with electric vehicles, there are car charging stations(shocked me). Honestly it didn’t look like I was going to see much but as I walked further inside the fort I saw way more, the fort has multiple small or medium sized building and reenactors usually accompanied the spot to read from rich history surrounding the subject, I found most of the subjects very interesting and normally read it from an American perspective, but the British perspective was interesting as well, the staff were very polite and helpful in addition to the fort, often telling me when I could see such events taking place at the fort( musical sessions or live firing of the firearms), the fort itself has a reasonable price for what you get out of it, Much love from old enemies haha

It’s a great way to spend my Saturday with my aunts. We attended the flag ceremony, saw the soldiers march and watched their demonstrations. Walked along the grounds and visited the different places inside the site. Definitely a good time to know the History of the war in 1912.

We went on Canada Day, so admission and parking were free, and there was a lot going on. We went in the morning, so the grounds also were not too busy. We enjoyed musket demonstrations, a talk about the War of 1812, exploring the buildings on property, and so much more. There were many people available to answer questions, and the grounds were very well maintained. Our kids, ages 5 & 9 enjoyed it as much a we did.

We happen to hit a day where there was a lot going on at Fort George. I would highly recommend that you check their agenda to see if you're going on a day where they're doing things. We were fortunate enough to be there when they were doing a musket and rifle live firing, and artillery firing, and a Fife and Drum demonstration. The characters all dress in period clothingand are quite knowledgeable of the details of the time.

This place is so rich in history.
It is very well maintained and tells its tale about the importance of niagara region for this country.
Moving around reflects the hardships, sacrifice and honor of brave men of this country. We went there on Canada day and it was open for all tourists. The parade was professional and everything was super nice that day.
The rooms were full of historical things that one could think of.
Will visit again for sure.

We visited Sunday May 26th, 2024 by chance. We went to Niagara on the lake and thought the Fort looked cool. First, this sight is dedicated to the fighting that happened between the Americans and Canada in the War of 1812. The Americans captured and destroyed the fort before the British and Canadians drove them back.

It was about $10 usd to get in.

First, this place is really neat, and I highly recommend going. The era collection and demonstrations they have are incredible. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable. You can’t help but feel like you’re having fun learning history. A special shoutout to the staff doing artillery and rifle demonstrations around 2pm. The artillery speaker has amazing public speaking skills and humor. The rifle and musket demonstrators are really good too. You can ask them questions afterwards or get your pictures taken with them free of charge. These guys are all history buffs, and you can definitely tell they enjoy their jobs. The staff alone is 10/10.

The site is a recreated fort that originally stood there. It is full of artifacts from life as a soldier during the war of 1812. Live actors walk around during the day in period appropriate attire. It is not the most extensive war museum, but it is a really neat fort with quite a bit of cool things to see. Also, I saw a lot of bicycles riding in the area around the fort. If we’d have known or weren’t on vacation to Niagara Falls we’d have brought ours. The area is really pretty.

Overall, I’d give it 10/10. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but if you’re in the area or have an extra day to burn in Niagara Falls, I’d recommend checking this place out. One caveat, no alcohol sold at the gift shop for those wondering 🙂. Cheers amigos

Visited today to learn about the history of this area. Travelled in from the UK. My son was given an explorer pack which provided lots of fun. The team that run this place were excellent, friendly, with great demonstrations and interactions. Full compliments to them for making this a great place to visit. Managed to spend 3 hours here which flew by. Highly recommend

Not the best weather for walking the compound but the exhibits and brilliant enactors made it so memorable. We even got freshly made cookies. Yum!

Interesting historic spot on the town of Niagara. Learned a lot about the War of 1812 and the times and circumstances of the people of the time.

Highly recommended if you're looking for something other than wine tasting.

Great historic fort to walk around. They had several demonstrations with costumed guides. A great talk of its history and playing of the drum and fife.

We were kind of at a loss of what to do in Niagara Falls. We were passing through and had an extra day to spend. The Falls themselves looked OK, but so expensive and crowded in summer. We looked at other nearby options and eventually came up with this place, an excellent option for things to do in the area. The parking is still a little pricey, but overall feels like a haven from the excessive crowds and prices in the area.

Great fort depicting events from 1812 war. It has a musket demonstration. Takes an hour to finish the tour.

A fun time was had by all. It was super informative. I absolutely highly recommend going to see the musket demonstration. I wish they let me fire one, but something about being untrained and liability issues...
All the different buildings had great displays, and the people working there really knew their stuff. I wish I was also there on a day for the fife and drum demo but alas, it was not meant to be.
I love the fact it's a national park so the entrance fee is not that high. Do not sleep on the gift shop either. I found all kinds of cute souvenirs.
Have fun and learn a lot!

Had a great time. We live in the states and go to Fort Niagara all the time. My son loves history. I learned more at Fort George than I have across the river in one visit. You are allowed to interact with things. My son was able to wear a red coat and lay in a bed. They had a bunch of demonstrations also. Had a great time. Will be back.

We recently enjoyed the ghost tour done at Fort George. Really fun experience walking around the Fort in the early evening. Awesome for those who believe in ghosts and fun for those interested in history. Being a local it was something I really enjoyed, especially the old stories and history behind some of the ghosts at the Fort.
This is a fun historical site visit in the daytime as well. I would not visit in the summer as crowds get to be a bit much and it gets really hot on a sunny day. Visit in fall or late spring.
