Thank God the really nice lady at the booth let us change spots because the 1st one was absolutely horrible, no water front as stated all shade and dirt and it was on a very steep incline so not great to park a camper. The bathroom needs updating and to be cleaned more or at least have the water thingy on the wall near the sink, so people can actually wash down the floors and hooks would be nice so you can hang your shower bag up. And also the moron who came up with the idea of when showering at a campground if you push in the knob the water comes on for maybe 10 seconds wth how the heck can you shower like that that's irritating!! But that's like that at most campgrounds just annoying!! 😡.. and

Great spot to hangout or camp. Went 06/15/2024. Took my wife, dog, and close friend. Had an amazing time and it was a really beautiful place to go.

We visited the park to inquire about the day passes and camping for veterans. The park is very nice, beautiful scenery, the employees there are very helpful.

Great playground right next to the pool. The pool area is kept clean and has clean restrooms. The pool does have 1 waterside and is always packed with a steady stream of kids waiting ro go down it. The picnic area is very large with plenty of room for a party. Dogs are allowed in the campground and in certain day access areas.

The park is very nice and clean. All the state parks along the St Lawrence are great. Nice boat launch, the area is well protected from the wind

This state park offers wonderful trails and is home to numerous fisher cats. It has plenty of wildlife like loons ospreys and bald eagles. The trails run right along the river and offer a private dock for fishing and swimming a hidden bench for relaxing during a sunset and a peaceful gazebo that sits on a stone wall from 75 years ago. This park has great camping facilities and a huge swimming pool and playground the boat launch is big and easily accessible as well!

We have been camping in the 1000 island Refion of New York for over 30 years and Keewaydin is one of our favorite place to camp when in the 1000 Islands. The camp is kept clean and is very family friendly. There is an Olympic size pool, beautiful views of the St. Lawrence, a marina to tie up the boat when in camp, and very good fishing from the bank.

We were up near Alexandria Bay for the 4th and were trying to look for a beach area for the kids to swim at but ended up going to Keewaydin. It was an amazing find for us.

We BBQ'd and then took the kids to the pool. A staff member there noticed my 3 year old didn't have a life jacket (I had forgotten to bring his so we were taking turns carrying him) and said that they had some available to borrow if we wanted. I hadn't even expected it to be available.

We loved our visit and would definitely come back if we ever find ourselves in the area.

Only complaint is if you rent the boat, make sure tank is full before you leave dock. They will charge you to fill it even if you come back 10 minutes later to complain it's empty 😒 other than that the park is really nice.

Beautiful place. My dog and I walked around the marina and she tried to convince a squirrel to be her dinner. Haha.

I love it! it has a lot amenities: pool, camping(tent), bathroom, showers, boat launch and a beautiful view by the St Lawrence River, also is not that far from Boldt Castle.

Great little park right in the heart of Alex Bay! The staff was super friendly and accommodating! We made reservations about 6 months in advance for the best spot there...Due to COVID-19, we were the only ones there for the first night!

When we rolled up to our spot, it was being occupied by the BIGGEST snapping turtle we've ever seen! (Even he knew it was the best spot!) 🤣 A quick call to the office staff and a nice man came and relocated the big guy to a better spot. Had a great, relaxing weekend and we already made reservations for next year!

Keewaydin is a really nice park. Access is easy, sites are large and most are easy to park in and fairly level. Views of the St Lawrence in many of the sites, with easy access to the river via the in park boat launch. No dumpsite here, so plan accordingly but Grass Point right up the road offers free dumping for Keewaydin campers. A really nice park in the middle of the Thousand Islands Region! We deliver RVs here often and love this park!

Edit: I had my reviews pop up and I kind of have to laugh at this pathetic review for something so important in my life. Keewaydin saw me as a new born infant to this year when I will be 24. When I was younger I would sob when we had to leave. So, let me try and remedy my weak review. Keewaydin is settled about five minutes from Alexandria Bay and around 15 to the Thousand Island bait shop and Clayton. A.B. is your hot spot for Uncle Sam Boat Tours to Singer and Bolts castle as well as learning basic knowledge of the surrounding islands. It has shops and food. It's pretty over priced but if you like it it's worth the money. Clayton is kind of more scenic to me, prettier and with a little less of the commercialization. The boarder of USA and Canada isn't far either if that interests you.
So, keewaydin. Quickly I wish to mention Keewaydin has !!!!! N O DUMPING AND N O ELECTRIC !!!!! They do have a marina and water!
That being said, because you are staying at a state park you can go to Grass Point to dump for free, just flash your white slip like you would coming back into Keewaydin.
Also, some of the sites are smaller. I dont think any are TO small, but they're small for a camper. Ps. One camper and one tent or two tents max per site! Make sure you know what site you're getting! With all that we get to the fun.
I've never had any issues with staff, they've always been super friendly and patient. There was one guy that asked us to use white bags instead of black ones but I havent had anyone parrot that and he was super apologetic about asking us so I'd ask at the gate. I've had more issues with people that camp there than the staff. You can run into people that never stop running their generators, play loud music, have aggressive dogs. It's a game of chance you can get anywhere you camp. When you pull in to the beginning of the loops, the first camp sites are on your right, then a parking lot for the pool starts. Then you get sites on the left and you can go down and around into the circle or go straight down to a dock all the way down or store your trailer in the parking lot to the left. The pool is Olympic sized, but you can only go in the parts that have a guard, of course. They have a nice bath house there too, toilets and showers. In the middle of the bigger circle is the bathrooms. They have two, single stalled disability bathrooms with showers. Then mens and womens. If I remember right there is two showers to each men and womens and three bathroom stalls in the womens. I know there are bathrooms down at the marina too, but I have no idea how many.
You can get sites that have nicer views so you can always walk around and see which sites you like better for next time. Half the fun is trying to find a full week where you can get it haha. Of course you can get right down to the river, so as you can imagine there are bugs especially if the water is high. Make sure to flea treat your animals and have bug spray/nets if you're sensitive to bites. There is a guy that comes on through with wood, The Wood Guy! He and his son are very nice, but their wood is pricey a bit. If you need it it could save you a lot of time though. Police do come through once and a while which is pretty alright. There is a HUGE hill on the top of the big circle. I can't tell you the amount of kids I've seen wipe out there, please have your kiddos wear helmets for that, at least. Fishing is good off the dock(not marina) but anywhere is good. There is also a nice playground with swings and a large couple of slides and a small rock climbing wall. Pretty fun, coming from a 24yr old. There pretty gazebos around. The fire pits for the sites are nice but I tend to clean mine out with a camp shovel and bag it. I clean the rungs and I also tend to bring a closer runged grate to put over it. I've lost a hamburger or two lol. There is water and I like it, but mom doesn't, be prepared for that. Skunks can be around but take care of your food and you'll be fine. I adore this camp ground. I hope you do too. Mom in picture. :>

Beautiful place to spend a few days away from the city, there are many things to do, and if you get bored you can head to the boat tours a few minutes away from the park.
