East Sooke Grocer & General Store

Cute little grocery store located at the corner of East Sooke Road and Gillespie Road. I rarely am in this part of Sooke but I made a quick stop to take a couple of pictures. I heard that the food trucks offered amazing fare but I was there way too early in the morning 🌄 to see them open. The store has expanded over the years and now offers the service of a hair salon, food trucks, farm and feed, propane fill up and ofcourse food fare within the grocery store itself. I went in briefly to buy a bottle of water and it seemed it was fairly stocked with good items.

This place is hopping at lunch time from both locals and tourists. Definitely worth a stop.

UPDATE: On the main wall just outside the front door, is a large community bulletin board that's loaded with postings, messages and business cards. It's a great local resource for contacts and ideas... even if you come after hours.

Great little general store. From nails by the pound, fishing rods, to tampons. This place has a little of everything. We enjoyed a hot coffee sitting on the comfy couches by the electric fire place to warm up after a cold motorcycle ride.

Everything you want in a small community store. The owner, Dave, gets to know your name. The store is stocked with anything you'll need without heading to town. The addition of the food trucks is just the right touch without getting too big time. A community card lock for fuel would be so nice. Summer farmers' market could rival Metchosin if it keeps going. The ATM and post office services are a great and valued resource for this community thanks for all you and your staff do.

This store has such a cool variety of products! Beyond ice cream, milk, pop, chips, candies, chocolate, bread, margarine, baking supplies, and all other esssntials my, they also sell newspapers, have a lounge area with some cozy chairs where you can sit down, read for a bit, and have a coffee with a friend. They have a great selection of camping and outdoor gear, supplies and fluids for motor vehicles, maps, and more ! Great store!

Great little country grocer in the heart of the small community of East Sooke. All the staff are friendly and Dave the owner is awesome. Prices are about what you would expect for an extremely convenient store that has pretty much everything you might need. Highly recommended.

Dave and his team do a great job of keeping the store stocked and running smoothly. Great selection of goods from a carton of milk to fresh fruit & veg to nails & screws! You can even sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee and a chat. It's a really great store to have locally.

I love this little store, its my go to for small day to day needs. Staff is fantastic, and the food truck has some amazing food and ice cream. In the middle of a beautiful forested area with walking and hiking trails For East Sooke Regional Park close by

Went there to pick up a package. The tag on my door said that it would be there the next day. But I received an automated phone call saying it was already there. So I called the store and asked. A very helpful staff member went and had a look and my package was indeed there. I went and picked it up and had a nice chat with a pleasant young woman. It was nice to get my package sooner than expected. And quiet time of day to be in the store.

Great little store. Nothing else in area. Little bit of everything including food, hardware, courier drop-off. Friendly awesome staff.

Great store, I went here to hang out while there was a tree blocking Sooke road and no traffic to move either way for about 3 hours. They had great sandwiches, coffee and an awesome living room setup of couches and chairs, magazines etc for me to pass the time! I didn't mind the wait at all, it gave me a chance to relax as though I was at home!

I can always find what I need. A great variety for all needs- groceries, snacks, emergency and hiking. Dave and staff are friendly.

Friendly people. Convenient location. Lots of everyday grocery items as well as local eggs, local soaps, some clothing, books, etc. I always find what I'm looking for and often discover something quaint or crafty for gift giving. Beautiful dog greets you at the door!
