I wish I had a higher rating to give him because 5 stars is just not nearly enough. 7 years ago my husband and I built this 15ft Prospector Cedar Strip Canoe but then life got crazy and between many moves and no place to finish the canoe it just sat, until my husband came across Carlisle Canoe Company and in just over a month our canoe was completed and to say we're over the moon is an understatement. This canoe came out even better then we ever dreamed possible ...thank you just doesn't seem sufficient

Roger did a beautiful repair job on a Kevlar canoe puncture I had, and also pointed out some weaknesses we were able to fix preemptively. Learned a ton just in the discussion of the fix, much appreciated and will be sure to recommend to anyone else with canoe issues!

We had an excellent experience carving out our paddles! Under Roger's direction, we were able to take a slab of raw cheery plank wood and create quality canoe paddles that we will enjoy for years to come. Rogers experience and guidance had everyone in the class understanding his step by step process of crafting their very own canoe paddle.
I would recommend this one day class to all of my outdoor enthusiast friends.
Roger also offers classes on canoe building/maintenance and repair. I look forward to returning to Carlisle Canoe for a canoe build in the near future.

Roger is wonderful. He has given me the pieces and the advice to restore two cedar-canvas canoes. He is always happy to talk canoes, which he knows inside and out (literally).

I would recommend Roger's paddle carving workshop to anyone with an interest in woodworking. Roger was gracious and patient with the attendees and gave instruction in a way that made the process fun and accessible to to all skill levels.
It's clear that Roger is a real master craftsman, having the opportunity to tap into some of that skill was a true pleasure.

I contacted Roger out of desperation to get my kevlar canoe repaired two weeks before a camping trip. He was very accommodating and had it repaired quickly and charged very little. He also showed me a better way to rig the canoe on my truck which was very helpful. Thanks Roger!

What an awesome course. In one day Roger helped my girlfriend and I make incredible black cherry canoe paddles. It was such an amazing class and he was extremely knowledgeable and patient. Such a great birthday gift.

Roger has been hand building canoes for decades now. He brings a passion for fine canoe building, together with endless patience for the novice builder, and a sense of humour to everything he does. He will build you your dream canoe, or will assist you in building your own dream canoe.

Some people find building a canoe just plain enjoyable, while others find it a peaceful recharging of their soul. As Canadians, some things just seem to be part of who we are. Maple syrup, white winters, politeness to others, and canoes.

If you aren't sure you want to take on a whole canoe, he also does paddle carving courses! Give him a call, he is a nice guy and will help you out.

Not sure the name of the gentleman I spoke with on the phone, but after exhausting my resources looking for d-ring patches for my paddle board, I gave this place a call.

Although they don’t carry deck rigging kits or d-ring patches, he chatted with me on the phone for about 10 minutes asking every little detail about what I was trying to complete, suggesting alternatives to what I was looking for, and ways I could easily complete this at home.

Seriously some of the best customer service I have ever received. I will definitely make a point to stop in to the store if I’m ever in the area, thanks to this gentleman’s outstanding customer service.
