Sooke Home Hardware Building Centre

They treat their staff well, and they are local people. It's a real community store. I like to support them instead of driving to another town.

Great in store experience for general stuff for the most part but would be great if they answered their phones. I was looking to purchase a washer but decided on one in town as I could not get any information on what HH has. and if I had an issue with the product it would be difficult to deal with if there is no phone service.

Go there often for home and work supplies. Everyone there is helpful and friendly.

Nice store. Required a few custom pieces of lumber as a result of our recent move. The staff were so helpful and one gentleman in particular took the time to help me, listening to what I needed and offered several solutions. He even took the time to make several cuts for me to ensure I had everything I needed. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful experience here today, I went in for some pellets for our pellet stove. Intending to pick up 3 bags, I grabbed a cart and had my baby in her carseat in the top portion. As I found the pellets in the aisle, an older gentleman employee came right up to see if I needed any help. He promptly asked how many bags I was grabbing and then took off to go get another cart. He loaded up the 2 additional bags onto his cart and then led the way to the tills and stayed with me all the way to my car and held the carts so I could unload without risking my baby rolling away by accident.

Such a very sweet man, with old school customer service values. 100% made my day.

When I told my partner about the experience he smiled and said the same gentleman asks him if he needs any assistance every time he comes in. (My partner is a handyman and shops here regularly).

I hope they're paying that man a great wage, cause he's exceptional.

The staff is so helpful and friendly!

Can't say enough good things about the staff here. Went in looking for that stuff that changes a fire into different colours. Couldn't find it. The staff then made it their MISSION to track down this random item for me. I left and came back and they had searched from top to bottom with no luck and figure someone stole it all. That is dedication.

The staff is very willing to help no matter what your request whether it be Construction or kitchen appliances, paint or even a door/drawer knob for that old cabinet you are restoring. They have most everything. Even suckers at the cash out.
If you bought something that doesn't work they will continue to look until they find something that will.

Sooke Home Hardware is great and I'm really glad they hired Karen and Sandy(? Can't remember if that's her name all I DO know is that she lost her husband and gave me good advice when my man died 6 months ago) I'm glad they got hired becauseI recognized them from different places they used to work at and everytime I ask them where something specific is, they know exactly the isle it's in and where in the isle it should be. 9 times out of ten they are correct and I find what I'm looking for quickly. I spend a lot of money at this location and almost all my tools are Radley as well as my battery powered weed eater and electric lawnmower (which I'd the BEST lawnmower ever, it's lightweight and mulches through anything all you need is a super long extension cord)
Anyways, i stay close to the stores in my community and try to shop local to support my community and people like Karen and Sandy(?)

Always love going in. I’m apart of the Sooke minor fastball association, When asking Terri for donations for safety supplies for the league she jumped right in to help. Super friendly staff. Love when local shops support local.

We are new to town and have made a couple appliance purchases and have found their prices as good if not better than the big box stores. Kaaras in appliances is very knowledgeable and very helpful. Great local business

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wonderful to deal with a business that is not corporate and the owner is happily serving you personally. Prices are generally lower than big box and when they are not just ask and and they will make it right.

Always a great "hardware / building supply" that retains that wonderful "small town" feel. Has a good variety from housewares, gardening, to large appliances. I buy all my appliances from this location for a apartment building, great service.

Home Hardware has long been an important place in my life. They often have what I'm looking for. Most recently what I was looking for was garden supplies. They seem to have the best selection of seeds in Sooke. The staff is always friendly and helpful. And the various departments usually have what I'm looking for. Whether that's a light bulb or a windshield wiper. And it's a convenient place to recycle my used batteries. I go through a lot of AAs in my camera.

Great Personal Service. Ask and these people will always help or point you to someone else.

The staff continue to go out of there way to help their customers. Saturday morning when my framers showed up, I realized my shipment from a larger lumber supply store was missing 130 lengths of 20' Rebar. I called said store and they said they don't deliver on Saturdays... so I stopped by Home Hardware to see if by chance they had any and they said we don't deliver on Saturdays... but if you can help load we will make it happen. Oh and this was 15 min before opening. 45 min later I was off loading the rebar at our site. Thank you Sooke H.H, you saved me today!!!!

Sookes only option for a hardware store, and in general, they have what's needed for fixes around the home and garden. They even sell lumber, which is nice, though their selection is somewhat limited. Still beats driving out to Langford though. Many daily repairs were saved by H&H, where otherwise I'd have to wait till the next day to go to Langford. Nice people as well.

Amazing staff and service even when I walked in right before they were closing. Very helpful, awehsome prices; worth the whole five stars! :)

Staff is always friendly and helpful. It has that small town feel. It is well stocked considering its size.
