Hintersee / Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden

we have traveled almost all over Germany, but this small lake that you can walk around in less than an hour is one of the most beautiful places because of the unique combination of a beautiful forest, Alp peaks that surround it, but not so close as to cover it, lush meadows, stone formations scattered here and there and creating the illusion of something fabulous. The colors are stunning, truly Maldivian

A beautiful place to walk around!

We went here 2 days. The first day was in the afternoon, which was VERY BUSY! Many people and the heat at that moment was insane so we left quickly. But the next day we went in the morning, there were no people (around 8am) and we walked around this water, it was beautiful! Better then I could imagine!

Beautiful lake surrounded by mountains.
Visited in summer. You can rent a pedal boat and enjoy the beautiful views. Very quiet and relaxing place.

Wonderful place for family and is a suitable place for hiking. You can row a boat in the lake for 1 hour with the cost of 10 euro. In the early morning it can be very quiet and make you feel relaxed. The water is so clear that you can almost see the bottom. The day that I went was foggy but the atmosphere and the view was just good.

A beautiful small lake and hiking trails. Rock formations with trees growing on them in middle of the lake can be found on one side where boat rental is location. Suggest taking a boat out to lake to be able to see it at all.

This lake is in a beautiful location rounded by mountains. The water is very clear. Nice place to relax and enjoy the view.

There is a bus from Berchtesgaden to Hintersee bus number 846, make sure to check the bus timings becouse frequency is very less ( most of the time hourly one bus)

Amazing lake, view is like in a paint. Really nice view from the mountains, the lake water is extremely clear and lots of fishes, birds and ducks, super nice.

Very beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by the mountains. You can take Salzburg train from Munich. Transit through Freilassing central station.

Overlooked by huge treelined limestone mountains this is a stunningly beautiful lake.

Perfect for swimming and sun bathing, with a wide range of access points around the lake, some sandy and others a little more challenging but private. The water is so clear and cold, or refreshing as I prefer to call it, but worth the thrill of swimming out and admiring the amazing scenery.

Pedalos for hire and a quaint ferry from one side to the other. Other facilities include cafe, bier garden and ice cream sales. Plenty of parking too.

If you have 1-2 hours spare, you should walk through Zauberwald. It is an easy trail. More importantly, I believe you can enjoy a more amazing view of Hintersee from Zauberwald

Lovely day in Ramsau and then to Hintersee. Scenery is amazing with lovely walks around the lake and refreshments when finished

Better than Königsee in my eyes. Very quite if you visit there early morning. Many hiking routes start from here. Infrastructure is perfect in the area, tracks are very instructed, many public toilets (and they are very clean!).

A beautiful lake with an amazing green hue that you can almost see the bottom.

You can park your car anywhere within Ramsau’s area for 5€ and you can park the car at any parking lot that is within the area as long as the ticket is valid.

At the lake you will find a restaurant and you can rent a boat from an elderly man who is at the other side of the lake, just go towards the boats and you’ll find him, 30 min will cost you 6€ for up to 4 people (or as much as you can fit in the boat) and 1 hour will be 10€.

Beautiful lake, defenetely worth visiting, is free to go and there are many cheap parking spots around. There are also boat services that are interesting to use if you want to go there. Even on rainy days it was very nice to be there. There is also a nice forest on one of the sides and nice places to eat around.

Very nice and cute lake, much less tourists than on Königsee. Excellent place to chill on a hot day.

Breathtaking! What a gem. The water is so clear! The walk around the lake is lovely and there are several vantage points where one can chill and admire the surroundings

This is a stunning location for photography or just walking. When I visited, it was raining but to see it covered with snow would be awesome.
