Altdahn Castle, Burg Altdahn

Great castle ruin to visit. Plan to spend at least 2 hours walking the castle grounds and enjoying the breathtaking views without visiting the museum. There are a lot of stairs, so be prepared to climb up and down numerous times. Kids may enjoy the climbing up and down; however, people with limited mobility will not be able to get to some of the castle areas. Definitely worth the stop.

Free access to this old castle. It's a ruine but many parts are accessible and can be climbed. Some places not for the faint hearted. Excellent views of the area from the highest point around.

The Altdahn castle is great place to visit for all the family. Really interesting place with plenty to do and see. Highly recommend.

wow you can visit this place for free, no need to pay for parking also..from top of the tower you will get an amazing landscape...simply you all will love it

One of the biggest castles in the palatine area, because there are actually three castles in one. One and a half hours did not suffice to see everything, it was a pity my group needed to leave so quickly.

Nice place to visit with family. You can explore the rest of castles for free. Good prepared routes around castles for trolley. Really nice views of terrain. Recommended to visit.

Great views. Peaceful. Since it consists of multiple castles, there is lots to see. You can buy an information booklet at the cafe. Cafe offered beverages and cake. Friendly service.
One of the castles hosted a small museum which was closed. Unclear when it would be open.

I love this place. I was living in Dahn around 1990, had a "Postcard" view of these ruins from my living room. We'd walk up the hill to see this place just about every weekend. Looks like things are a little different from when I was there.

Die drei zusammen hängenden Burgreste sind leicht zu Fuß zu erreichen. Es ist sehr beeindruckend wie gut erhalten teilweise die Burgreste sind. Es gibt teilweise Beschilderungen wo erklärt wird was hier früher in den Raum gewesen ist. Ist sehr zum empfehlen 😊

Tolle Burganlage, auf 5 Felsen abenteuerlich erbaut, mit herrlichen Aussichtspunkten auf Dahn und das umliegende Felsenland. Vom Parkplatz schnell zu erreichen, kostet kein Eintritt, Besuch lohnt sich auf alle Fälle. In der Burgschenke kann man auch Kleinigkeiten zu sich nehmen und was trinken.
