What an amazing experience this was. The rooms are good, not too many people in one place, normal showers and a nice place outside to relax after your walk. The communal dinner is recommended as you get a three course dinner made by a lovely lady. It also includes red wine and sangria! Afterwards, you get an incredible tour through the wine cellar, and the host shows you how it was used back in the days to defend from intruders. Overall a must visit if you are on your path to Santiago!

This is a great stay in Castrojeriz. This Albergue has a tour of the tunnels that run underground. It’s been transformed into a wine cellar that is a must see. The dinner was so nice, the best chicken I’ve ever eaten, not an understatement. The backyard if beautiful with a spa at the top to dip your feet. This is a great stay if you are interested in some of the history in town.

This is the third time I have stayed in this place and I always liked to come here.
Jose is very kind, helpful and funny.
He knows about Castrojeriz and can tell you many interesting things, if you understand English or can translate.
The visit in the wine cellar is quite fun and a nice ending before going to bed.
The place is clean and tidy, all works well for us.

The owners are hilarious, boss is kind & interesting! A mini pool for legs after a whole day trek, shiok! There is a visiting & wine tasting session at 8pm, wasn’t expect that. The session was conducted in Spanish, I can’t really understand, but from the expression & sound effect by the host, it is truly impressive. Thanks for the host :)

What a special aubergue! We had a warm welcome and wonderful stay in Castrojeriz.
The hostel is well maintained with a gem of a garden, terraced at multiple levels and with a paddling pool for hot and tired feet.
Bathroom facilities are good and multipoint USB chargers are thoughtfully provided.
That's not even to mention the medieval cellar tour, absolutely amazing complex.
The owner's English is not the best but he makes up for it with verve and goodwill so it is not an issue.
A very pleasant pilgrim meal was also available. Bed at only E14/night.
Highly highly recommended. We would definitely return.

Excellent alburgue with wonderful hosts. One of the best I’ve been to. Must see the 12th century wine bodega below in the basement via the wine tasting tour. Host was magnificent and loads of fun.

We showed up after a long day in heavy rain and high winds. We were welcomed and helped out of our gear. Everything was hung up to dry. The hosts were very kind. The food was just what we needed. The establishment was clean. The tour of the 'wine cellar' was fun and educational. A lovely stay. We would definitely return in the future.

I've only just started the Camino, but this place is amazing. The day I got there it had been raining, and was actively thundering. Needless to say I was drenched and exhausted after a long day on the Camino and it showed. The first thing they did was get me inside and showered, and only after did we talk about money. Their hospitality is incredible. I haven't even had a chance to try their food yet, but I have no doubts that it is good as well.

Best Albergue we've stayed at on the Camino. The hosts are very kind people. They renovated the place very tastefully. The dinner was excellent (especially the juicy chicken). Do not miss the free cellar tour. It's packed with some super cool history! You won't get this experience anywhere else.

Friendly hospitalero. Good food. Nice amenities like a pool to soak feet and beautiful garden and grassy area. The wine cellar tour was a great touch. Happy that we stayed here.

The Albergue host took us for a free tour in the wine basement from the olden days. He was super nice and funny. Hot water in the shower. And they have an option of community dinner and breakfast for extra charge. Great place.

Clean rooms, stayed in group room with 8 beds. The dinner was world class, I will be dreaming about the chicken for the rest of the Camino. Super cool wine cellar tour. I would definitely stay here again.

My favorite albergue along the camino. Clean and also very beautiful. Stained glass windows in the rooms. Great dining area. But the spirit of the hosts is what made it so special. The kindest people, so warm and hospitable. Loved our stay here.

I stayed here in June of 2022. I miss thé Camino so much and the stay here was one of the highlights of my 35 day Càmino! I loved every minute is staying here! Soak in the family diner, the music, the cold water pool in the back. It’s exactly what a pilgrim needs! 🥾🙏🤩💕

The private room was great. The communal dinner was wonderful and the tour of the wine cellar after dinner was an unexpected plus. I would definitely stay her on my next Camino

I am two weeks into walking the Camino de Santiago and this is by far my favourite albergue so far. The hosts are so welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to have us. They went above and beyond to make the experience special, with so many little details that add to the experience. There is a pool to dip your feet in, a beautifully cooked meal, and a tour of the ancient wine cellar which was spectacular! They had even gone to the effort of making little welcome cards in every different language (including Gaelic!). A really special stay. 100% recommend.

Jose paid attention to the needs of each pilgrim and was very helpful and encouraging. The albergue was clean and well organized, if not a bit crowded. Information was given in many languages. After a plentiful and delicious dinner, we were treated to an historical tour of the wine cellars. A relaxed atmosphere encouraged friendships. La familia.

A hidden treasure on the way of Camino de Santiago. Clean room, great dinner, and beyond expectation tour after the dinner. Won’t hesitate recommending to anyone.

Ultreia is a wonderful albergue. Very clean, has a nice atmosphere to it. The dining hall has an old grape press which looks awesome, and it also boasts a medieval wine cellar, where you can have wine tastings.
The food is very good, I had a great dinner and a good breakfast.
The owners are one of the kindest people I've met.

What a fantastic albergue. Not only is it beautiful and comfortable, but the owners are exceptional, so kind and thoughtful. I arrived in a lot of pain and he immediately gave me an ice pack and got me to relax. The dinner is superb, and you get a tour of the Roman wine cellar. Stay here!
