Wonderful hosts, the best so far on our Camino. Couldn't do more to help us if they tried. Stayed here last Camino and they have that lovely continuity of care. Zucchini soup to die for and the best pork loin hubby has had so far. Will stay again if ever in the area. Many, many thanks for making our stay so amazing. Highly recommend this great spot

The best albergue on the Camino so far in terms of the dormitory set up (we loved the "pods" with a curtain, made all the difference for a comfortable sleep at night), clean bathrooms, plenty of space to chill & relax in the sun. Most importantly, I would like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful oweners who run this place: my partner got quite sick with an upset stomach the night before, they did everything they could to help us: from cancelling his pre-booked dinner without charging us for it, to offering a very tasty home remedy herbal infusion (straight from the garden!) that actually really helped him to feel better. We wanted to extend our stay, but they were booked out, so they helped with calling their contacts and finding us a room nearby even though no availability was showing online. In short: lovely, hard-working people who will make you feel at home. I also enjoyed the local Castillan soup for dinner and the general vibe at the bar. Thank you for all your help, Maricarmen & Fernando.

Nice hostel, good people, decent food served all day, right on the Camino, beds are cubicles with curtains and privacy. I like this place

Private room.
Owner and his family are a treat to be around.
Rooms very comfy and with good showers. Mine overlooked the street which was nice.
I was there when the hail storm hit 30/4/23. Unbelievable flash storm leaving houses and roads flooded. The street outside became a river.

The Spanish owner speaks english and makes everyone feel welcome. We originally were booked at a nearby hostel and it was closed suddenly because of illness. We were in a dorm room with 16 other women, 5 who I am still friends with post Camino. Pilgrim meals were great. Loved the rooftop seating area.

This was the BEST meal I could have come across on the Camino. Fernando, the bar keep, is also an amazingly kind soul. Highly recommended to any pilgrims and non pilgrims alike.

Wonderful place to stay for the night. Great service, very responsive to anything anyone needed and beautiful yard to relax in. Nice little dining areas for both lunch and dinner.

I stayed here when I walked part of the Camino in September of this year. This place was great! The peregrinos I met there were friendly and sociable. The rooms were clean and the food was great! The staff were amazing and made the stay more memorable!

Stayed here during my camino and got a private room after a long day of walking. It was right on the camino trail, which was very convenient, and in the middle of town. The room was spacious with a nice view, the bed (beds because the room had twin beds) comfortable, the food delicious (had the menu del dia for dinner for EUR 11), and it had hot water. Very comfortable stay during the camino.

Loved this place. Has a nice bar area as you arrive and the people who run it are friendly and professional. Rooms are big and well ventilated. We ate at the restaurant in the evening. All good.

Quite simply a joy in Castrojeriz. All the people were wonderful the owners extremely helpful letting me stay an extra day to help my leg recover. The beauty of rolling into town and asking if there was a room is a throwback to 2007/2011 caminos. Nowadays many people book or even over book and don't show. I like to roll into town and wherever the football rolls that's where St Jacques says ask if they have room. Brilliant show, beer garden, washing machine if you like a proper wash from time to time and such a friendly happy place. I will be back next year. Thank you.

The bunk room is a seperate building from resturant. Its also quite spacious. The pilgrim menu was quite good for its price. Even locals come and relax in the bar, and play with the dog.

A very nice hostel with a great view. Even a foot bath in the little garden. The beds are fine and the showers even better! The restaurant has a good pilgrims menu. Fernando and Carmen are very friendly.

The owner and his wife welcomed me warmly and I was shown to a well-appointed room overlooking the main street. After a disappointing night in
Hornillos, it was great to have accommodation with such pleasant hosts. Clearly, they enjoy having guests and they go the extra mile if you need help with something. I had a very good evening meal- Castillean soup , Cod in sauce and a bottle of sweet Rioja wine.

Excellent albergue, fresh cotton sheets and pillowcases, a filling dinner and opens at 7:30 for coffee and breakfast. Really loved this place!

Really good albergue with very friendly owners. We stayed one night at this albergue in Castrojeriz as a friend had recommended it. It is very new and still not in the guidebooks. The facilities are good and the room was very warm. Probably the best shower so far on the Camino. The owners really welcome pilgrims and they made us a lovely pilgrims dinner.
