Great experience to share and see the old world! Less than an hour's drive from Madrid. Mother truly enjoyed her visit and being called Queen! Amazing tapestry and views. We were not able to see the play as you have to reserve at least a week in advance. Not expensive at all. Good bucket list item!

Impressive restoration and great history with some beautiful original tapestries and other unique features. The town is also lovely and the locals seem proud of their home.

Awesome well preserved and rebuilt. Nice and short tour inside (tickets at the entrance). Best views from the top as expected. Went with my daughter of 3 and had a great time. Kids younger than 7 can't go up all the way up in the castle.

Fantastic castle! Just keep in mind that it is closed on Monday and siesta hours in the afternoons. There is a good pizza place just down the street across from a coffee/sweets shop. Enjoy ☺

I came here on my 60 th birthday. It was perfect. Tranquil. Beautiful. Relaxing. Sensational views. Castle and garden worth At least one and a half hours. Was inspired by the film Love and Pain and the whole damm thing with Maggie Smith. Highly recommended

Beautiful rather small castle from the end of the 15th century. A bit of a mix between a castle and a palace. Lots of paintings, Flemish tapestry. Count about 1,5 hours for the visit.

Amazing castle! You can get there in the Bus 724 from Plaza de Castilla metro station.

It's very clean and amazingly beautiful. The price to enter is 5€ per adult, and 2.5€ for holders of the Carné Joven.

Totally recommended.

Unbelievable in great shape.. You can walk in the castle and check every single room.
Up to the castle tower..and circular stair for some kind of adventure feeling (and your imagination flys away, when you walk around thinking in the knights, cannons, archers, etc.)

It's a cute little castle close to Madrid. It takes about 45 minutes to walk the floors and tickets are not too expensive. Great if you have a spare hour or two

It's a small castle in the community of Madrid. It takes around 38 minutes from the City centre. The beat option could be going by car.

The entrance was free due to the hollidays but it is worthy to visit it ona free day. The panorama is wonderful.

This was such a cool experience. You can use public transport from Madrid to get to the castle. Really recommend if you are into history.

“Castillo Manzanares el Real” is a fantastic castle from the 15th century. The castle is in great shape, well explained in the boards that surround it.

You can visit the castle exterior for free and if you want to enter you have to pay €5 per person. Inside you will be able to see the chambers, some armours, shields, and others.

Want a quick day trip outside of Madrid City? Castillo de Manzanares is less than an hour's drive away. The Castle is pretty preserved, and if you go on a weekday, there are very few people and you have the Castle practically to yourself. Tip: if you want good eats, check out La Charca Verde. Their Tiramisu is to die for.

Wonderful place for a day trip from Madrid. It would be great for the documentary they present to have subtitles in other widely spoken languages.

Really nice Castle that was built during the 15th century and rebuilt several times afterwards. Both fortress and palace has all the typical features you would like to see in a medieval castle. You can wander outside for free and the tickets to visit the inside are 5€ or 3€ with discounts (kids, elder...) Really worth it. We loved it with all the Autumn spirit surrounding the castle with views of the Helm one side and the Santillana water reservoir on the other side.
