Hotel La Torre del Visco

If you want to get away from the rat race this is the place! Secluded and off the beaten track. Breakfast was exceptional and staff wonderful. We stayed a week in 2022 and although it is secluded so you have to eat in really - the food was very good. We loved the solitude and spent hours by the salt pool - a definite get away from everything place. Grounds beautiful too 😊

Great choice for a weekend 2,5h away from Barcelona. The views, quietness and the food quality and service are the best. Rooms are already old, and fall short from what one expects from a Relais & Chateaux. Degustation menu is excellent, and the team are super nice and make you feel at home. Recommended

In 2021: La Torre del Visco is always a 5* experience. We came for an Anniversary dinner and enjoyed creative cuisine at its best: five courses including dessert based around courgettes in different guises, all from the hotel's prolific kitchen garden :-)

The original and the best. We have been visiting 'La Torre' (calling it a hotel doesn't really do it justice) for fifteen odd years. There are similar destinations/hotels in the area however we always return here. The experience is so beautifully honed without being clinical and the food would deem the kitchen a five star restaurant in it's own right. The journey is an amazing trip in itself once you get on one of best roads I've driven on and of course with Castellón Airport forty minutes away we worry it may become too easy to get to (haha).

Rarely is one completely satisfied with holiday accommodation (unless money is no object) and even rarer to continue to be pleasantly surprised. You can't visit this part of Spain and not stop here for a bit. A must rather than a recommendation. Enjoy.

This must be my favorite Relais& Chateaux, because it captures the essence of true luxury.
True luxury is not about silver cutlery, or having someone at your beck and call.
True luxury is the absence of ugliness, vulgarity and noise. It is an unspoiled landscape and the sound of silence. It is in the atmosphere of trust and congeniality that reigns over the hotel, in the authentic and very tasteful meals . I could go on and on, about the honesty bar where you can pour yourself a drink ( just write it down), about the wonderful kitchen which is the heart of the hotel, about the large library and the kindness of everyone working there.
Suffice to say that this summer I enjoyed the numerous shady terraces, the swimming pool and the meals in the open air so much that I already booked an November weekend. I can’t wait to see the roaring fires and discover the taste of autumn.

From the second we arrived to the second we left, we felt completely at home. Breathtaking views, stunning buildings and warm, welcoming staff. Food and wine delicious, to boot. Every detail has been considered and we absolutely loved our stay.

La Torre del Visco is, to me, one of the most welcoming places I have ever been.

The property has all you need to feel at home: a peaceful environment surrounded by an olive grove and acres of forest; gardens to rest and refresh in the pool; books and bright corners in the house to sit down and relax; a wonderful wine cellar and beautiful rooms. Also, if, like us, you are more of the active type, there are trails to run starting at the property, climbing areas just a few minutes drive away, and canyons and trails in the Natural Parcs of "Els Ports" and "Tinença de Benifassà" within a slightly longer drive. However, what really makes the difference is not the building or the activities, but the people filling the place. From the gardener to the owner, they are all fantastic people willing to share the beauty of the place with us.

The restaurant deserves a special mention, and the gastronomic experience is truly amazing. Ruben, the chef, really shows in the menu the respect he feels towards the products of the territory. Each course was creative in the way the ingredients were presented, and it was fun to find the vegetables we just saw in the garden on our plates and identify known flavors in creams, foams and broths. Also, do not miss the opportunity to taste some of the wines they have on the list; the sommelier will help you find something that matches your taste, and the waiting staff is lovely and really knows the products they serve.

We will definitively be back!

Just Excellent, overall quality, friendliness personnel, attention details by owner, peaceful location, reasonable size, one breakfast table, surroundings, etc. and with same concept as more than 20 years ago when we came several times. Congratulations!!

we stayed for 6 nights in May - fabulous menus and food - plus we found a perfect ambiance and location for a luxury chill out with walking straight from the hotel - relaxed from breakfast till bedtime & missed it when we left

A peaceful getaway in beautiful surroundings where one can get away from it all and be treated like royalty and fed like a king by a most attentive staff. Definitely a place to return to again and again!

Hemos pasado un maravilloso fin de semana con nuestros dos perros en la Torre del Visco, un lugar totalmente recomendable.
Los jardines están perfectamente diseñados y cuidados y el hotel es un remanso de paz donde se miman todos los detalles. El equipo que nos ha atendido ha sido muy atento y profesional y tanto el desayuno como la cena nos han parecido espectaculares.
El hotel tiene una ubicación perfecta como base para hacer senderismo por la zona de Matarranya, un paraje espectacular rodeado de pueblos que merecen la pena ser visitados. El picnic que propone el hotel nos sorprendió muy agradablemente!

Hemos estado dos días y ha sido una maravilla, el hotel es precioso, los detalles perfectamente cuidados, los profesionales con una trato personalizado, amable, pendientes, todo para que la estancia sea una experiencia para repetir y recuperar energías, muchas gracias por haber podido compartir con ustedes la estancia.

Una experiencia gastronomica fantastica en un entorno espectacular. Una maravilla poder hablar un ratito ( y que nos compartan una receta!) con el chef Ruben y su segundo chef, Alejandro. Fantastica tambien la atención de Marina. Experiencia de 10.

Experiencia perfecta. Buena atención (sin agobiar ni abrumar), sitio espectacular (hay que adentrarse en un en la montaña 5km por pista forestal sin asfaltar), vistas y paz casi divina, arquitectura con sumo buen gusto y comida deliciosa (cultivada en la propia finca). Volveremos

No voy a replicar lo que en la web describe, pues es así. Tampoco lo que el resto de reseñas explica, coincido en casi todas las buenas. De todos los hoteles que he visitado este año (y son unos cuantos) puedo decir que me dolió marchar. Es altamente recomendable y es un deber entender lo difícil de ejecutar ese servicio en esa ubicación. Como mera nota de mejora, para acercarlo a la perfección, que estudien proponer carta de snacks, picoteo o "brunch" entre las horas de servicio del restaurante, no sólo de vino vive el hombre y si quieres disfrutar de la calma, no puedes salir a buscar un queso para acompañar un buen vino.
