Casa Azofra

Very good food with a entry where you ge to see the Ovens in which the lamb(lechazo) is cooked. Service was good and fast.
Not much of a rush as we visited on weekdays. But still better to book in advance.

We have eaten here several times in the past, but on this occasion we stayed in the hotel. As an “asador” this is an excellent place to taste the classic Burgos charcoal cooked young lamb).The standards are very high with both service and food of excellent standard. The waiters are also very friendly and knowledgeable. As a hotel we find Azofra also to be great. Our room was spacious, clean and well-appointed. Noelia in reception was very friendly and helpful. The location is great for visiting the Monastery of the Huelgas, but is about 25 minutes walk from the centre of Burgos. We will stay there again next time we visit. Very good value for money.

The lamb is simply divine. This was our second dining experience at this restaurant and it was just as good. Great food and service.

Very nice price and location for the 3-star hotel. Rooms are very cozy and clean, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

I have to say this is probably the best lamb I’ve ever had. Go with the Menu de la Casa which includes wine, bread, salad, lamb and dessert. We had a large group so we each got different desserts and each was amazing. The waitress recommended the fried milk and it was delicious. The chef even stuck around and answered some of our questions. We had so much fun and felt so welcome. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in Burgos!

Delicious traditional Burgos food. The best in town! We ordered 1/4 codero lechal asado for each two people, and it was the perfect amount. Everything was delicious! Everything, the bread, the soup, the wine (house, albeit priced like non-house wine), and especially the cordero and the Castilian soup. Also, the waiter was very nice. Highly recommended.

Some of the best lamb chops I have EVER tried, and bonus if you try the morcilla traditional sausages with rice inside 10/10 would come here again

Excelente hotel. Estuve hace años para visitar Burgos, Atapuerca y los bisontes de Paleolítico Vivo. Está al lado de la ciudad, con muy buen acceso, y muy bien situado para visitar los otros lugares. La atención es exquisita, y las habitaciones sensacionales. Alrededor del hotel el entorno es también muy digno de visitar, con una hermita cercana. Muy buena experiencia y si vuelvo a Burgos repetiré.
