This is a lovely hotel and restaurant. A hidden gem that I first discovered 20 years ago and returned to find it had not slipped in its charm. It’s an old walnut mill with the river running through the grounds. Very picturesque, quiet and romantic. The restaurant is excellent, serving wonderful dishes focused on regional ingredients from the Périgord.

A least our fourth trip and this time we indulged in 8 day stay. Emily makes it a pleasure to pick the room which best suits us. After three days they started to offer us different choices at dinner so we had FABULOUS food all our stay. Always courteous service with just the right amount of friendliness. They will do whatever you need to enjoy your stay without being overly intrusive to your quiet time. My husband relaxes brilliantly here. Lots of good reading nooks. The gardens and pool is beautiful and the dining by the creek lovely. I have owed them a good review as hospitality is an ever demanding business so good to spread the word and have more people enjoy. My conscious is now clear! I hope you go. It is a slice of heaven.

Moulin du Roc is a fairytale. The location is quaint, private, and so peaceful. We stayed for five nights, six days, with our parents and children (ages 11 and 7). The hotel service all around was my favorite part; absolutely five star. They greeted us and helped us with our luggage. They met us every morning for breakfast with kind smiles and even memorized our favorite dishes. In the evenings, we enjoyed incredible dinners; even a special menu after our second night. We had our designated tables, so we never had to worry about finding a spot for a large group of six. Our beds were always made, treats were left in the rooms, and extras, like a packed pastry bag for our early drive to the airport, were a huge plus. We loved the swimming pool, the large grassy areas to stroll around in; especially in the mornings, the charming bridge where we watched fish and ducks swim, and the many sitting areas. I would absolutely recommend this as a multi-day stay. It isn’t close to a ton of restaurants and shopping, which added to the experience. We did find several small towns, including Brontome, which were absolutely wonderful.

This place is like a fairy wonderland! The scenery is so adorable and the rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable. The food itself is exquisite, each dish prepared beautifully with varying flavors that make it unique and tasteful. The wine connoisseur was knowledgeable and picked excellent wine to go with our food, he was also very pleasant and kind. Highly recommend this to anyone in the area who is looking for refined dining and some luxury.

We have just enjoyed the most wonderous weekend at Le Moulun du Roc.
We were welcomed by the most delightful and attentative staff and escorted to a splendid well appointed room with all the comforts of the best hotels we have started at.
Dinner in the starred Resturant Roda left us with nothing but shouts of brilliance.
Breakfast in the dining room was equally as special and the physical environment was mystical.
This weekend will have us ensuring that this destination will feature on all our future travel agenda to this area.
Thank you one and all for your quality, care and comforts.

Everything about this place is exceptionally fantastic. Food is absolutely divine. The location by the river, the stunning decor, the ambience and the great service. The owners Alain (head chef) and his wife Shirley really care about what they do and it shows! And let's not forget all their staff. We really had a fabulous stay here. Keep up the great work. We hope to see you again. Tony and Sinead

This hotel and restaurant is in a beautiful setting with a river literall running table. The rooms are lovely and some have wonderfully terraces. This is one of the best breakfasts I have been served and I have been served many over the years, working around the world. The weekday menu is exceptional value and quality and they have a really good wine list. We have tried some of the less well known and although not cheap we have never been disappointed, the sommelier knows his wine. We lovely the atmosphere for an evening meal with seating outside along the river or late in the autum the indoor restaurant is warm and inviting. The owners have created a great venue where people want to return to.

A beautiful, romantic little hotel (only 16 rooms) in an old water mill by the river. The service is top notch and extremely friendly. Dinner and breakfast were very classic yet very well executed and excellent.

A beautiful old mill in a wonderful countryside. Staff organised dinner off site when restaurant was not open and a taxi to get us there and back. Wonderful surroundings and a great restaurant.

The food and service were impeccable, even though we do not speak much French, all the help were very accommodating and went the extra mile answering all sorts of questions about the meal and the wine list.
