Chateau Hotel & Spa Grand Barrail

Lovely location, great vineyard views, amazing chateau atmosphere and all. The only downside if I really need to count was the knowledge of the stuff about the wine and its details. Also keep in mind to book the spa in advance, we couldn’t find a slot at all.

Staff were very friendly and helpful during and before our stay. The team offered numerous suggestions for winter wine tasting options and arranged our pickup from the train. We quite enjoyed taking the bikes out for a ride.

Bfast has a nice fresh selection and home made products and diner choice is correct and good - carte du vin offers a fin large selection of great wines

We had dinner at this beautiful venue in middle of June. Great food and service!!!
We had Terroir menu and all dishes were delicious. Price is reasonable. In addition to dishes on the menu, restaurant gave us palate cleanser dishes and dessert.

Highly recommend this restaurant. We would come back in a heart beat.

This is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The lunch was great for the money. the service was impeccable. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and beautifully furnished. The view was fantastic, overlooking a vineyard. I highly recommend everyone and everything about this hotel. We hope to be back again some day.

Incredible experience. Room was amazing, bottle of wine and macaroons when we walked in. Spa area was very nice. Outdoor area beautiful gardens and landscaping.

Stunning place, the staff upgraded our room and even decorated it for us. Before we even arrived they sent us plenty of reccomendations and booked a table for us. They went above and beyond our expectations.

Amazing place! The staff is excellent: kind, attentive. The castle kept its French tradition at a luxurious level. Everything is high end. From rooms and furniture, to staff and wine bar. Pool and spa area were just an added bonus to make our stay beyond perfection!

Amazing experience! We first had the Apéro outside and then dinner inside (both locations really beautiful and cozy). The staff was extremely friendly. Also, the food was very good!

One of the hightlights of our trip. What a beautiful chateau. It has a stunning garden and to make it totally french... petanque. The wine was great, and the view as well.

Beautiful hotel with wonderfully attentive staff. We stayed three nights in a gorgeous ground floor room with its own little terrace space. The room was so dark at night and the bed was huge and comfortable, so we slept brilliantly. The spa is nicely decorated and the little jacuzzi looking out onto vines is lovely. The reception staff were so helpful, booking us different restaurants and wine tours. All their suggestions were excellent and it made for a very relaxed and brilliantly enjoyable break. My only suggestions would be that if you'd like to eat in the restaurant (food was lovely) book prior to arriving, and the service there was very slow so be prepared to relax into a long meal.

What a gem of an experience! We loved it so much that we extended an extra night. The dinner here is not to be missed. Also very happy we upgraded to a room with a balcony. Sitting on the balcony with a book was dreamy.
Pro tip: room service breakfast is the way to go.

An “old” castle in the middle of an awesome wine region - St. Emilión. The hotel and Spa area are great and the breakfast was superb. Also, the staff that treated us in the Spa was friendly and well trained. A great pleasure. At the reception, we also had a remarkable experience - everything got organized and we had a wonderful weekend there. Certainly, we must come back.

We read mixed reviews and were a bit cautious. Totally unnecessary. This place is AWESOME! Really friendly staff, nice accommodations and an amazing restaurant. Set within the vineyards, take a bike ride through the meandering small vineyards that surround the area, or enjoy the pool after a day exploring the village. A dreamy place, book with confidence.

We expected our stay at the Chateau Grand Barrail Hotel to be the highlight stop of our two weeks in France for our honeymoon. Those high expectations were met and then some! The "wow" factor you experience every day you're on the grounds is something special. It's breathtaking to arrive at the magnificent Chateau in the heart of the vineyards surrounding it. That feeling was matched by the professionalism of the staff the minute we walked in the door. We were treated exceptionally well and made to feel special!

None of that could prepare us for what was next. We opened the door of our room to find the bed, table, and bathroom beautifully decorated in rose petals with other special creative touches. We had a note and chocolates waiting for us as well from the staff to celebrate our honeymoon. Minutes later a well-dressed staff member knocked at our door with a bottle of the region's excellent Cremant sparkling wine in ice. It was like a dream! So was stepping out on our balcony to take in the incredible view of the vineyards just outside of our room. We sat at the table there and enjoyed our drinks and scenery for awhile to take it all in.

The grounds are fascinating as well. You can relax on the folding chairs outside and stroll down to the grape vines. We rented bikes from the hotel and took a scenic ride down the quiet roads to see other chateaus and vineyards. It was so much fun! The pool area is very relaxing, too, and included crystal blue water and excellent views of the chateau itself.

Did I mention that there is also a top-notch Michelin starred restaurant right inside the chateau as well? We had an elegant meal and enjoyed some wine as we looked outside through the open-air doors to see a magnificent sunset.

I also need to point out how courteous and professional the staff was in helping us through the process of having to postpone our trip twice due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. Celine and the rest of the Chateau's team made things easy and took care of all of our needs as we figured out the logistics of rebooking our room. We're so glad that we finally got to make the trip to such a remarkable place!

There are times in life when it's worth it to pay the extra money for that wow factor experience. We are so glad we did it here! This was a once-in-a-lifetime place to stay that made us realize how beautiful the world can be. The staff made us feel very special throughout the stay and took great care of us. If you're in this region, go for it! The Chateau Grand Barrail is a place you'll enjoy and be wowed by throughout your entire stay.
