Château Figeac

Beautiful chateau for a great wine, it was nice to discover the history of Figeac with the very nice tour we recieved

As we were travelling to the Left Bank and rather pressed for time on the day of our tasting, we tried to switch to a 60-minute tour instead of the 90-minute one we'd originally booked. We're so glad that we stuck with the longer tour of this marvellous family-run vineyard in the end!

It was absolutely wonderful learning about the history of Chateau Figeac and its wines from our extremely knowledgeable guide Gwen. We could really feel her passion for wine and her pride in the vineyard. We were also extremely lucky because they had just started harvesting and we got a behind the scenes peek into the production process. My husband was particularly impressed by the optical scanner that blazed away, sorting 1600 grapes per second. To top off this amazing experience, in came Madame Manoncourt herself to the tasting room. She was very excited about the harvest, and very sweetly obliged when we asked for a photo with her!

And of course, the highlight – the tasting. Both Chateau Figeac and Petit Figeac, their second wine, were so delicious they were easily among my favourite wines from our trip. We were prepared to order a couple of cases home but alas they don't sell their wines at the vineyard. We'll definitely be hunting them down in Singapore!

So happy to see Figeac on a great run of vintages. My main memory is of meeting Thierry Manoncourt in the late 80s, such a Gentleman and l hope his long held dream comes true soon! Also there was a tradition to taste a vintage with some bottle age. A fan ever since!

Bien que je n'aie pas fait une dégustation verticale unique, j'ai été très impressionnée par le FIGEAC, sa structure tannique forte, qui est toujours équilibrée par les caractéristiques juteuses de la cerise noire, de la plume et du mûre sont vraiment bien préservées avec l'âge sur une belle longueur. Et le chocolat, les épices douces, le tabacoo, le cèdre et un soupçon de cuir après le vieillissement sont vraiment magnifiques.

Splendide transformation tout en gardant une âme d'un château familial. Du beau travail récompensé par le classement 1er GCC A.

Pues en mi caso, y lo siento por Olivier, he de decir que es uno de los tres vinos franceses que más me gustan. He tomado varias botellas de varias añadas y siempre me ha parecido un vino excepcional. Yo a visitar la zona en Octubre y es la única bodega que tengo verdadero interés en conocer e manera exhaustiva...

Je suis chauffeur routier je travail pour une société qui revalorise les cèpes de vignes j ai eus l agréable surprise de tomber dans un château très bien organisé ils m ont envoyé un plan de circulation dans leur propriété et les indications étaient tout à fait exactes de plus le tri qui leur avait été demandé était très bien fait et les cèpes de vignes stockés en bord de chemin très appréciable pour les chauffeurs pour tous ça merci à toute l équipe du château merci au responsable d exploitation qui est venu se présenter et qui est fort sympathique et quand on voit une organisation comme celle ci on ne peut que conseiller ce chateau
