Delicious food and beautiful presentation! We had the fish of the day and it was cooked to perfection. The server made a fantastic wine pairing recommendation too.

Just FYI— we had a hard time finding a taxi after dinner when it was late and raining! Plan ahead :)

Fantastic experience here! Right when we walked in I knew it would be good. They’re located along the river with indoor/outdoor options, the staff are super kind, friendly, and helpful, and the food was absolutely incredible!!! My whole family enjoyed their meals. I had their onion soup which was great and then the braised beef cheek (simmered for 7 hours with linguine and vegetables) which could be the BEST I’ve had!! So tasty. Cannot say enough great things about Bistro Pilote!

We read the amazing reviews for this place and we’re lucky enough to be able to walk in early on a Wednesday evening and get a table without a reservation - but we were the only ones able to do so. The restaurant was otherwise completely fully booked and we would strongly recommend booking this place in advance!
The hosts were very friendly, the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, and the service impeccable. The diners seemed a mixture of French and English.
The menu is written in French only, but the waitress will happily answer any questions (and Google Translate worked a treat!)
The place was beautifully decorated and the ambience cosy and warm. There’s both outdoor and indoor seating with lovely views of the river.
If we come back to Dinan again this will be the first place we book to eat!

We had a wonderful experience at Pilote. The service , atmosphere, food and the wonderful friendly staff were a delight. Recommend this little lovely restaurant to anyone who may be visiting Dinan .

Wow! I’m so happy I searched for top rated restaurants during my day in Dinan. While a different experience, this is right up there with the Alain Ducasse boat cruise on the Seine. I hope to be back!

The menu has choices very different from mainstream resto in France.

Over looking the old port of Dinan, with seating by La Rance, inside and within a walled garden at the rear.

the beef with teriyaki sauce is really good! The shrimp in appetizer is pretty good as well. Taste like Asian French fusion :)
But coffee is not good…..

Amazing meal, fresh, seasonal, perfect. Possibly one of the best dinners I've ever had.

Five stars don't do justice to this restaurant. It deserves a lot more considering the quality you get for the money you pay.

Stumbled across this restaurant on our trip down to the port. Sounded amazing when the guy translated the menu for me, so we went for it! We weren’t disappointed, it was amazing!!! Beautiful walled garden at the back, lovely setting. We were able to take the dog in with us, we got an actual decent, full sized, clean (modern & safe) high chair for our 9 month old son - something we have found hard to come by travelling around France for the last month. They also cooked some chicken breasts & rice for the kids (nearly 3 year old daughter and baby) - again this was wonderful as nearly all the kids menus we’ve encountered have been beige, deep fried foods like nuggets and chips!!! Well done for being different and supportive of families dining out!! The staff spoke excellent English - which really helped as our French needs serious work. The fusion of flavours and presentation of the food was amazing! Would highly recommend, would have revisited but we only stayed for 2 nights!

We enjoyed our dinner so much we went back a second time. The dishes were all inventive and delicious. It was easy to get a lactose-free meal, often a challenge in France. Guillaume and his staff were attentive and fun. There is seating in front of the restaurant, on the river, and also a lovely garden patio in the back.

Excellent food, welcoming staff and a very nice wine selection by the glass. The cheesecake for dessert was delicious - rich filling but not too sweet finished with a nice limoncello is a great end to dinner. A perfect location with an intimate but not dull setting and would highly recommend visiting you will not be disappointed.

We had an overall really pleasant time and everyone from myself (28yo) to my Grandfather (80yo) enjoyed it very much.

My wife and I visited bistro pilote for the first time. I can say it is one of the best resturants we have been too. The food is very different with fantastic flavour. The service was very good. Highly recommended if you are looking for something a little different.
