LE POISSON IVRE

Having previously visited Le Poisson Ivre several years ago, I was anxious to see if this lovely restaurant was still as wonderful as I’d remembered…
Delighted to say that both Sylvaine and Olivier are still as charming and engaging as ever and their menu is delicious, with Olivier’s tender lamb particularly noteworthy.
During the evening, the kitchen produced finely constructed food in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere (cool soundtrack - London Grammar) and each plate was presented and served with great love and attention.
Their food was so good that I actually returned the following day to have lunch on the sunny terrace.
Olivier’s mushroom risotto and the mussels from Mont St. Michel were so unbelievably fantastic that I really had to indulge. Fabulous!
Without doubt, Le Poisson Ivre is one of the best restaurants in Dinan and their delicious food, complemented by an equally excellent team, made a solo-travelling Irishman and his tummy very happy indeed. Chapeau!

I like this place a lot. Peaceful location on the Rance river a ways down from the busier beginning of the street. The decoration is modern, tasteful and fun. The cuisine is reasonably priced and excellent with simple ingredients prepared with major skill. The service could be a bit more attentive - sometimes a bit too laid back, but overall an excellent place to stop for lunch or dinner.

Nicely located in the port of Dinan is this wonderful fish restaurant. We have visited during lunchtime and were welcomed by a very kind service. The restaurant serves a selection of fish dishes with small starters and wonderful desserts.

As in season we have tasted the scallops and the lieu jaune (a special kind of pollack).

Stopped here for one night in May 2023 while cycling along the river path from Rennes to St Malo. Lovely spot by the river where you can watch the world go by. Great food, friendly staff and a very nice room. They also have secure storage for bikes.

We love this place and we want to return before we leave Dinan if we can because the staff were so kind and friendly and the food was wonderful. Go, even for a drink, because the view is stunning and the atmosphere are so calm and peaceful. Eating here really helped us understand how the French live and it showed us a whole other way of life.

Beautiful setting for fabulous seafood! Loved the oysters starter but especially the seabass in beurre Nantais sauce.

Excellent Service and hospitality. I highly recommend. The staff and persons are really cordial and welcoming. I tried a Hering Salad and Fish & Chips. It was excellent.
