Had a lunch up there, friendly and knowledgeable staff with a good food!

A wonderful meal of a whiskey sour cocktail, duck, salad, escargot, jambon & cheese plus wine. Excellent service all in a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere.

After walking through old Sarlat and comparing the menus of the many restaurants, we chose Le petit Bistro based on its look! In addition to the usual street tables... and indoor seating... they have a few tables along a balcony that were quieter with a great view over the street. The food was excellent, and our rather poor French was not a problem as the server had perfect English and helped us understand what we were ordering along with a great choice or rose wine.

Great hospitality, great food especially grilled Canard and good wine. We really enjoyed.

Even though I agree with Sandra's review that wine should be poured from the bottle into the glass at the table, that did not reduce the pleasure that le petit bistrot experience gave me. Very friendly staff in a nicely decorated restaurant with fabulous food and good (secredly poured) wine in the hearth of the Perigord in the funky town of Sarlat where they decorated the city in Mexican style during Christmas (which I think is much more fun than another same old glitter and fake snow). I'll be back!

A small restaurant in the old town. Charming attentive service. Reasonably priced set menu with imaginative local dishes as well as an à la carte and daily suggestion.

Staff were so helpful, friendly and efficient. Food was fabulous on the two occasions we visited. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Very cozy with large menu. Many great choices. Had omelet with truffles off the al le carte menue and came with potatoes and salad. Most filling. Wife had Rooster in Red sauce from fix menu. Enjoyed it
Staff that evening had really no english speakers but made every effort to explain and accomodate us.

Quite a quaint french resteraunt (as suggested by its location!). I have just eaten the most beautiful (and sizable) entrecote rouge, cooked to perfection followed by a delicious apple tart and I am now waiting for a cup of tea. The local wine is impressive as well. I recommend the 'Chateau Des Eyssards - Bergerac Rouge 2009' if you like your red. Over all, impeccable, friendly service and exceptional food. I will be coming here again!
Wine and steak connessieurs should pay this place a visit. I for one am not easy to impress. Also a very reasonable price for such a popular location.
