La Maison Bakéa

We have had a lovely stay at La Maison Bakea. Cordes-sur-Ciel is a wonderful town and our stay in Maison Bakea was by far the best stay on our holiday. The house is beautiful and wonderfully decorated. Our host, Catherine, made sure we got all the information about the town, booked a lovely restaurant and made the best breakfast with a wonderful view. Would definitely recommend La Maison Bakea!

The staying here feels like traveling back in time to the 15th century, but with the comforts of the 21st. Our host greeted us and gave us a tour of the chateau and we got to appreciate the details of its uniqueness. After we settled in, we were given a bottle of local wine to enjoy on the terrace- we sipped some with a view of the green valley below. My room was beautiful, with a comfortable bed and came with modern bathroom furniture. In the morning, our host served us a lovely breakfast on the terrace with homemade croissants and jams that were just sublime. Here you can experience something very rare and truly a special treat to enjoy.

While our stay here was just a brief moment in time the memories will last a lifetime.
The history of this magnificent house is only surpassed by the pleasure of experiencing the history by walking in their footsteps and enjoying the atmosphere which has been so carefully preserved.

Amazing place to stay in Cordes-sur-Ciel! Beautiful and comfortable rooms in a fifteenth century house (which means there is a suit of armor, secret passageway, and swords hanging on the walls, so fun!) Delicious breakfast. The woman who owned the place was kind, helpful, and gave great recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the region. Staying here was the highlight of our trip to France.

I spent a single restful night at La Maison Bakéa in Cordes sur Ciel, travelling there by train from Toulouse. The hotel is located on the southern edge of this fortified hilltop settlement. Taking advantage of this location, my room offered a magnificent view of the surrounding agricultural lands of the Cérou valley. All guests have access to a common balcony that opens out onto this lush countryside view from where morning breakfast is served. The hotel is a veritable fifteenth century museum throughout from the common areas to the five individual suites available. I would highly recommend Maison Bakéa for a unique and restful getaway if travelling through southern France.

Beautiful accommodation in a stunning location. Marie couldn’t do enough for us and explained the wonderful history of the building, provided a delicious breakfast and recommended further places to visit. We stayed in many places during our trip but this was the highlight.

Stayed here for a weekend and honestly, the best place ever stayed in France. What a beautiful house with a rich history. The guestroom had a breathtaking view of Cordes-sur-Ciel, which was just magnificent! Felt welcomed and at home by the owner, a highly recommended stay.

A rare find. Beautifully furnished and decorated in a style I've not seen in a hotel before. A typical French breakfast but in a setting that one will remember for a lifetime. The terrace in the breakfast room overlooking a view which once again is stunning add to that beautifully prepared home cooked bread and cake and croissants all served on the finest white China. The hostess Marie is quite charming and helpful a truly memorable stay in a superb town.

The Cordes Family loved visiting the town of Cordes and staying at La Maison Bakea. It was a perfect accommodation that mixed the medieval atmosphere with modern comforts. We loved the fresh croissants in the morning and our host was very friendly. She was happy to provide recommendations and when booking a restaurant for us was sure to tell them we were celebrating a birthday in the family.

This place has everything you need to have a great stay. It's spotless, the view from the terrace is breathtaking, the furnitures each have their own history (quite a bit of it) and the hosts are passionate about the place and the town. They also gave us great advice about what to do in the surroundings. A wonderful stay !

Lovely place with an elegant and friendly hostess. Definitely worth checking out for an evening or two if you're visiting Albi or Toulouse.

This location and experience was simply amazing. Every detail was attended to by the innkeeper and she even took the proactive step to make us dinner reservations on behalf of us as we were arriving late. Wonderful breakfast, wonderful location and wonderful accommodations. Would certainly recommend to anyone traveling to Cordes Sur Ciel...

An amazing experience. It's like sleeping in a museum. The atmosphere is perfect and the personal who is in charge of the the guest house always make sure the experience is perfect. I highly recommend to everyone.

This place was fabulous as a romantic weekend away. The hostess went above and beyond to make our stay special. I couldn't recommend it highly enough! The restaurant recommendation was perfect.
