Absolutely superb. For a family who appreciate a quieter day, without crowds, and with a mixture of inside and outside activity, this was perfect. The location is beautiful, and parking is delightfully easy. The entrance fee was minimal, and we were met by extremely friendly staff on arrival, who laid out a lovely plan for us for the afternoon (open 1330-1730 on day of visit). We visited the little play area and woodland tree face trail first, which were lovely, and the children had fun. Next was the caterpillar maze, which we all enjoyed. We wandered through the gardens back to the house for the Teddy bear trail, led by what we found out was a member of the family who lived in the house, and the visit was perfectly tailored to the little ones who loved it. We also had some injects for the adults, which were appreciated regarding history, and my wife was able to play the piano which was delightful. We then popped back outside for a fantastic bird of prey display. We completed the day with a cracking afternoon tea from the lovely little cafe, and another wander around the beautiful gardens. Overall, highly recommended and our favourite day trip of the holidays when coupled with a morning wander around Jenny Brown's Point and Jack Scout.

Had a lovely time walking around the grounds of Leighton Hall. A spectacular place that is definitely worth a visit, especially if you are a Sherlock Holmes fan! The staff were very welcoming and I also had a great chat with Suzie about Jeremy Brett and the filming of Sherlock Holmes at Leighton Hall. A very special place 👍

A great place to visit. I checked the dates of opening but forgot to check the time so was very early as it opens at 1:30, it didn't matter as I had time to wander around the beautiful gardens and take the woodland walk.
After delicious coffee and cake in the sunny gardens I took the tour with Mary as the guide. She was so knowledgeable about the history and made it a really fascinating tour.
I often go visiting halls and gardens and I think this one has the friendliest team I've met.
I'd highly recommend it and it's a fabulous place to take kids as there are so many activities for them to do.

A lovely house in a beautiful setting. £12 for a very informative tour of the house, lovely gardens, tearoom, and a bird of prey display. Very good value. Not too crowded and a friendly, family atmosphere. A great afternoon out made even better by a wonderfully sunny day!

A lovely relatively small but lived in family home. The owners wife showed us around the house and she was wonderful. She made us feel welcome, relaxed and was thoroughly entertaining. It was so nice to be told you can walk on the grass, sit on any seat unless labeled otherwise and peruse rooms at your leisure without an Eagle eye supervising you. Trust and appreciation of visitors can be rare.
We were also treated to an owl and hawk demonstration on the lawn which was fabulous. Would thoroughly recommend a visit if you are nearby.

A beautiful estate. On arrival, the owner was very accommodating and made everyone feel welcome. The tour guide was very passionate about the history of the estate which made for an authentic experience. A great place to visit if you are looking for things to do in that area.

Had the most amazing tour by the owner, Suzie Reynolds, who explained in great detail the history of this beautiful hall, which is still a happy family home today. The grounds are immaculate.

Visited for the 10k race run by Penine trails. Ran round everything pretty much, very scenic, wish I'd had more time to see all the odd and interesting structures

A very interesting place to visit. A guided tour of the property gave us lots of information and local history.
The gardens are beautifully kept with a lovely herbaceous border and walled areas.

Take a tour of this place! Don't be put off by its rather uninviting external facade, which was a late addition. We were conducted round by the lovely owner, Suzie. Very entertaining and interesting. The first such house we've visited where you're actually invited to sit on the chairs and touch the furniture! Beautiful garden with tea room. And a birds of prey display thrown in for good luck!

Exquisite house set in beautiful gardens! The woodland walk through the gardens is wonderful.
Went for a classic car event which was brilliant. I'd highly recommend looking at the Leighton Hall events page on the website to see what's on.

An amazing guided tour by Pamela. A wonderful place, so homely and cosy, yet so stately. A fabulous afternoon cream tea included, many thanks for a glorious visit.

A breathtaking historic vista greets you as you pass the lodge house and proceed down the long drive through the grounds down to Leighton hall.
The house is fantastic but it’s the gardens that we’re the main highlight for me.
Beautiful cottage style borders, cherry blossom, Dahlia and just a generally amazingly kept garden. They even grow veg to use fresh in their own cafe.
I also had the pleasure of briefly meeting the extremely knowledgeable horticulturist Jordan and his father Stephen who is the Estate foreman. The wealth knowledge these two lovely chaps have in their fields of expertise was inspiring.

Great place to visit, highly recommend an outing there.

Had a lovely tea party for my granddad's 90th birthday, he was born in the Hall and lived in the area for many years. We had our own private little chat about the Hall and were allowed to have a wander round the place by ourselves, the place is lush, the Christmas trees are fantastic. Thank you for letting us visit.

One is welcomed into this grand residence like a friend. 'Do sit down on the chairs if you need to' was suggested by our guide. Interesting Gillows furniture here and there and all in the most beautiful setting. Yummy afternoon tea served and a wonderful demonstration of Birds of prey in the prettiest of gardens.
