Usk Rural Life Museum

We come here quite often, always our first and last choice for breakfast.
Staff are so lovely, always friendly, food is always cooked to perfection.
Wonderful place as well, highly recommend!

Perfect free activity for a Saturday afternoon. It'd not all accessible to me as I am on crutches and some is upstairs but what I got to see was amazing. Lovely coffee shop too - Wendy's, great cake, milk alternatives andeven better prices. Also toilets including disabled toilets available on site as well as parking

this is an absolutely brilliant little museum, the staff and volunteers where wonderful.

Our toddler was very happy about the cow and the horse. He uses "Moo" much more often since visiting the museum.

My mom and I were especially interested in household things, especially pretty box with a chamber pot inside ☺

Lovely place to go and learn a bit of rural history, its free and they have over 5 thousand items. You can even sit on a cool tractor and try milking a model cow! They've done the museum really well but rely on donations so please give generously to keep this gem of a place going. The volunteer staff were really friendly and enthusiastic. There's also a small cafe there we had just eaten but there was a lovely smell of food there. Well done all involved...

We stopped for a coffee and a hot sandwich whilst on a bike ride. Bike rack next to outdoor seating, service very friendly and quick. Enjoyed the bacon and egg baguette and American coffee. I thought the price was very reasonable too... Although my friend did pay 😄.

Wasn't actually particularly interested in the concept of a rural life museum but actually it's a nice way to spend a half hour (or longer if you want to read all the information on display!). Lots to see and look at covering various aspects of rural working life/ home life.
We visited on a Saturday and it was fairly quiet though the cafe attached is clearly popular, there were a few children who seemed quite interested in what was on display too.
Not all of what is on display is wheelchair/ pushchair accessible but still plenty of old farm tools and machinery to look at.

Came across by accident as it's in the carpark! Went into the cafe for lunch and found the museum...it's like the Tardis, just goes back and back. I would say a must if you visit Usk.

What a great museum, would visit again and already recommended it for others to visit.

We only had about 30 minutes to visit as we arrived late. We'll definitely be returning as it is full of interesting items and the staff are very friendly.

Fantastic. A real throwback in the most delightful of ways. Brought my great-grandfather's shed to mind. Loved the tractors and railway set. So did the youngsters!

A great little museum packed to the rafters (literally!). I stayed in Usk with my mum for the weekend and we visited the museum and Polly's cafe which is located at the entrance. It's such a lovely cafe we made sure to return the next day. The staff are fantastic...always welcoming warm and very smiley! Good singing too! 😆

Really interesting free museum next to free car park. Fascinating exhibits to look round, well laid out and friendly volunteer.

Stopped for lunch had a sandwich and tea. Very good food service prices good too.

I really enjoyed this local, well arranged little museum. It has a good general collection and some very interesting special exhibits ( corn dolls in particular). Well worth an hour or so of anyone's time and for me, worth a repeat visit.
