Myself and my partner brought our Chocolate Labrador Maggie in this morning for a consultation with Rachael and were greeted by Sonya on reception.

We have used Abbey Vets Durham for over 13 years and have always found them to be the best and the staff great, however on todays visit both Rachael and Sonya went above and beyond.

What a ray of sunshine Sonya is. Full of smiles and the best welcome. So interested in us and Maggie, we felt like we had known her for years. She really made our visit relaxed and enjoyable for both us and Maggie too. That's how customer service should be done and Sonya is a credit to Abbey Vets, thank you Sonya. I was so lovely to chat to you and maybe see you in Dubai.

Next was Rachael, she blew us away with her passion, knowledge, explanation and care for Maggie. She is the female version of Noel Fitzpatrick! She gave us so many options about Maggies restricted movement and really took her time to explain to us both. Both myself and my partner turned to each other when she popped out of the room and said wow she's amazing at the same time.

What a visit, what an experience and both Sonya and Rachael deserve special recongnition from senior management for their exceptional skills and manners when dealing with customers. If only service could be like this everywhere! I know a lot of people take the time to complain, but I really wanted to take the time to say a massive well done and thank you.

I arrived with my 10 year old shitzu Cross girl feeling very distressed after a weekend of great concern over her odd behaviour and apparent discomfort.
My appointment was the first one with Abbey Vets and I was given plenty of time to express my concerns and observations to the Clinician.
She was very attentive to my dog and thorough in her examination.
I was relieved that her overall diagnosis was in line with my assumptions and I was given the medication I had previously had without hesitation.
Additionally I was alerted to the fact that she might have some pain and made aware of how to watch for signs of deterioration in her generally.
In short I left the Practice with a sense of relief and a much calmer pet as a direct result of my relaxing after our visit.
It is good to know I have someone who can quickly and effectively deduce any ailments she has in the future.

Abbey Vets provides an excellent and friendly service. My cat has never been so well looked after! The vet listens well and takes the time to understand her complex medical needs and to fully explore and explain treatment options. The reception staff are also really welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend Abbey Vets.

We've been with Abbey Vets for over 30 years and have always been impressed with their compassion, care and sensitivity towards us and our pets. Yesterday was no different and Rachel took a great deal of time and trouble calmly to explain our options without trying in any way to influence our decision and then carried out our wishes in a very kind and considerate way when we had to say farewell to our 24 year old cat. We are most grateful.

This vets is a rip off. Prices are over priced.
They make you get vaccination when you don't want/need them.
So incompetent it took 3 people to cut my dogs nails and he is only a chihuahua.

A very welcoming vet where they take special consideration of any requirements. The staff are always very pleasant and treatment is well explained and the cost is discussed prior to any treatment being carried out. I would highly recommend this vet practice and would not consider attending any others.

Abbey Vets are fabulous with our Cockapoo. We feel that he is in safe hands , they remind us of his jabs etc and are really kind and caring to both Rocco and ourselves . Appointments are quick and no hassle . Would recommend Abbey vets to anyone with a pet

Visited Abbey vets yesterday with my puppy for the first time and I was absolutely over the moon. The vet was informative, caring, kind and patient. She made Sonnys first trip to the vets thoroughly enjoyable and also put my mind at ease whilst there. The reception staff are lovely and friendly and all the vets at the practice went out of their way to come over and introduce themselves to Sonny and make a fuss of him. Lovely staff and an absolute credit to the practice. Wouldn’t go anywhere else after a very bad experience at a previous vets. Abbey vets are the best and it’s 5* from me all round! Thank you so much

Superb vets. Our dog is not friendly but they are absolutely willing to treat her and also offered ways to try and get her more acclimatised to visiting the vet (as she has ongoing health issues and will need to visit regularly). They have been nothing but understanding and professional. Absolutely love this vets practise.

I have used Abbey Vets for over 10 years for my cats and rabbits. All staff are really friendly and have an obvious devotion to animals. My pets are never happy to go of course but they are treated so well they patiently deal with the experience! The locations are modern, clean, welcoming and have plenty of parking. I particularly like the screens at Durham showing what's on offer and advice for owners. Highly recommended.

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Vets are very thorough in examinations. They explain things clearly and are sympathetic. I feel confident that my dogs will get the best treatment whenever I have to take them. Receptionists are welcoming and helpful. The waiting area and examination rooms are always clean. My dogs have been registered there since 2001 and I have never been given cause for concern or complaint.

a really nice touch was the separate entrance for cats and small animals - to try to separate them from the dogs. The staff were very caring, going above and beyond to help out pet to feel more comfortable. Fees were reasonable and well explained.

We used this vet for the whole life of our dog, who sadly just passed away at the age of 14. In his life he had various treatments and operations at Abbey Vet, Durham. We were always fullly informed of how the procedure would be or what treatment options were available. We always felt he was in the best of hands. The staff are knowledgeable and welcoming. Chris is a particular favourite of ours, always offering such genuine interest and care in our beloved pet. He is supported by an excellent team. Even when we had to make the heartbreaking decision to have our elderly dog put to sleep, because he was too poorly, Abbey Vets did not rush us. We were allowed plenty of time alone with our pet before and after. It was as dignified as it could be. We will not hesitate to remain with Abbey Vet for our next dog.

Absolutely brilliant service when we had our dog put to sleep. They were very caring and passionate to make sure we knew exactly what was happening. Can't thank Laura and Gail enough for their help. Super service,
Every small detail covered professionally.
